Zuffa Boxing

top ranked put on fights in vegas to keep espn happy like he ufc did. than in 2021 there were big boxing event happeningh.
Not at first. It was only UFC. Those fights didn't happen until later on in that year. No sports were active except UFC for a very long time and that was only due to Fight Island. Also Top Rank still has boxers in their promotion under contract, Zuffa Boxing has zero boxers under contract. So there was no way for it to try and operate during 2020 or 2021. All promotions/sports were trying to figure out ways to keep events running and not getting shut down. It would be a horrible time to try and start something new like Zuffa Boxing.

Things are easing up and all restrictions/mandates seem to be on the downside this coming year. The narrative is changing with CDC, Fauci, and the new administration about covid restrictions/mandates. So it'll be easier for sports/promotions to operate moving forward. So who knows, maybe they'll still work on Zuffa Boxing in the future. I'm sure they are seeing the success and interests with current state of boxing and all the mma vs boxing fights.

Dana isn't going to touch boxing. the UFC model is uniquely profitable because of its dominance in talent (IE: it's a monopoly fight provider and monopsony talent consumer at this point) and the lack of protections offered MMA fighters that you see in boxing, at least as far as the western market goes. The shit Dana pulls just wouldn't fly in boxing, the guys in boxing know their worth, and even the ones that don't know they're worth more htan what Dana has to offer them.

Dana should focus on making a mens strawweight division in the UFC. I've been following it loosely recently just out of interest in other MMA promotions and that's a place where Dana could recruit a lot of talents from Asia and Latin America and make them superstars for big markets like Indonesia, China, the Philippines, India, Thailand etc... It'd be a much smarter investment than a Zuffa boxing league.

Yes, I remember when the bald goof first mentioned this, and most of the boxing forum wished misery and predicted abject failure.

Turns out he's still the same gap toothed cunt that started as a failed boxing promoter. :(

an notice dana not one time talk about zuffa boxing event with all this jake paul stuff shows how it not a real thing. you also could been doing ziuffa boxing with ufc fighters as well but dana not showing any interest in that either cause why wouldnt you make jorge vs canelo that sells. why not make nate diaz vs bud crawford. what bout henry cejedo vs lombancho. also ntice how dana saying this francis will only resign if he can box wouldnt be a problem if he could have franvis fight under ziffa boxing.

That's because of the results of Conor's fight with Floyd and Jake Paul's fights with Askren and Woodley. The results weren't good overall and that's why Dana/UFC may not be interested in crossover fights since they may not be confident in the UFC fighters ability to beat high level boxers in boxing. Conor was considered the best boxer at the time and Floyd schooled him in their fight. He had his moments in the early rounds but Floyd figured him out after a couple of rounds and took over the fight easily after that. Woodley getting KO by Jake Paul definitely doesn't help. They can do it and make money but they would also risk damaging their brand UFC. So if they do it I feel like it's going to be more boxing focused and only a few UFC fighters will cross over, only the ones with the best chances vs high level boxers. It won't just be a cross over party because they still have to protect the UFC brand.

Ngannou will box regardless if he's with UFC or not. He's making it clear he wants boxing fights in his contract if he were to sign with UFC again. So it's on UFC if they will allow that and keep Ngannou or lose him to boxing. Ngannou can be competitive in boxing, his punching power is comparable to pro boxers, probably hits harder than most current pro boxers except a select few where it's comparable or even.

with the era of freak boxing this is the time for Zuffa Boxing. Dana and his investors should go full balls on it.
I know! Triad, Bareknuckle and Jake Paul all got out in front of Dana and he lost an opportunity: Askren vs Paul did 1.6 M ppv’s, the same as UFC 100, and it cost relative peanuts to put on. Meanwhile, Iranian Hulk and other internet freaks are begging to fight under Dana. Just have a freak league separate from the UFC, use Fightpass and ESPN to promote, then make a ton of money.

There’s a huge market for boxing vs mma and freak fights. If you don’t capitalize, someone else will.

This is true. What crazy times. The UFC pulled off events during an insane, wildly overmanaged managed world crisis. It was weird for sure, but it happened at least, when we were all scared to go to the grocery store. Props to Dana for pulling that sh!t off. Fight Island and Jacksonville...It will go down in history.

It was doomed to fail, because Dana can't be a dictator in boxing like he is in MMA. You can't just put on huge events and keep all the money for yourself in boxing, because the big name boxers aren't going to sign away their freedom to you.

That's why Dana dicktucked and got out of boxing quick, saying "boxing is broken". Boxing has it's problems but at least the top guys get paid well and don't have to be at the mercy of some small dick ex-boxercise teacher from Boston who got bullied his whole life and to compensate does a bunch of TRT and bullies actual warriors.

the fight with conor was huge for conor and the ufc. they got like 25% of conor money cause they had to allow him to fight it. the woodley/ben fightis have nothing to so with the ufc since they were under contract wit hteh ufc. ufc also had no factor on the anderson silva or vitor belfot events 2.

francis isnt going any where. cause unless he boxing fury there no freak show floyd mayweather lat out for him.

It was big yes but Conor lost. They were hoping Conor would win. Dana and Conor were visibly upset with the outcome. He had a good showing in the early rounds but in the later rounds he didn't have much offense or defense. If you were to watch the fight now Conor got outclassed in the fight once Floyd figured him out. It really showed the difference in boxing skill set and how big the gap is between them. Conor was considered the best boxer in mma.

The other fights were still tied to UFC brand because they were promoted as UFC champions. So even if UFC wasn't involved their brand is still on the line. That's why Dana was doing damage control early and trashing Woodley in media/press before the fight to try and soften the negative PR if Jake Paul beat Woodley.

Ngannou will do boxing with or without UFC. All he needs is one boxing fight with a big name and he'll make more than he would signing a multi-fight deal with UFC. Plus Ngannou always wanted to do boxing and just fell into mma. That's why there were contract issues, he wants to box and he wants boxing fights part of his contract if he stays with UFC or else he's going into boxing as a free agent and getting his biggest pay day. Fury has shown interest in fighting him and has been for the past couple of years.

There is a reason UFC is not allowing any UFC fighters to cross over and fight high level boxers even though they want the fight and people are calling out boxers. UFC doesn't think they can win and wants to protect their brand. Ngannou may get the ok though, he has a good shot of doing well since his power is an equalizer and his punching power is comparable to the top power punchers in boxing. So he has a real puncher's chance at winning. Unlike Conor who has no punching power with boxing gloves on, he would need to win by decision and with his cardio issues he'll never make it to the 12th round in a high volume/intensity/pace boxing fight. Floyd was able to walk down Conor because he wasn't worried about his punching power, Conor's punches aren't comparable to boxing's power punchers who Floyd has fought already. Once he felt his punches he knew he could take it and that's when he started walking him down and fighting him on the inside. Floyd would never fight boxing's power punchers like that, it's too risky.

no sane person was thinking conor was winning. floyd had it set up to protect him. his hand picked ref with hand picked judges. trust me if floyd would of sold a rematch there would of been one a few months later. boxing freak show event only sell 1 time. that why floyd was hoping to get khabib to fight him next. dana never got along with woodley so there no reason for dana to talk nice about him after they cut him.

so after francis get smoked but fury like conor did vs floyd than what his value in boxing is nothing. francis isnt leaving the ufc. the only way franics makes the money he thinks is in freak show fights vs people like wilder or joshua or fity who smoke francis easy cause in a boxing ring the mma fighter loses.

Conor wasn't hand picked, they really thought Conor could beat Floyd because he beat Paulie in sparring. They needed to have Conor sparring with current champions to gauge his skillset before the Floyd fight. His coaches don't have the boxing IQ to deal with Floyd or other high level boxers. That's why they also got outboxed by Poirer. Dana shuts down all boxing fights that UFC fighters ask for. UFC/WME-IMG is all about profits right now, the only thing they put above profits is the UFC brand. So that's why Dana shuts down all boxing talks and won't allow any boxing cross over fights.

I didn't say Ngannou would win, I said he has a real puncher's chance. Because his punching power is comparable to the top power punchers in boxing. It's just a matter of hitting before he gasses out. 12 rounds is a long time especially with boxing pacing. Anyone with punching power like that has a puncher's chance. Wilder was able to do very well in boxing relying mostly just on his punching power. He didn't try to really box until losing to Fury. Wilder has a great 1-2, and that's what he uses to KO most of the people he fights.
