Dana F. White recently said in an interview with Teddy Atlas that he still plans to get into boxing but that it's tricky.
Low end pay is the same for all sports. But Zuffa Boxing wouldn't be focused on low end fighters. They would've been focused on making big fights and potential stars/talent. There were talks about UFC buying PBC before the pandemic when Zuffa Boxing was being heavily talked about. Dana was talking with a lot of boxing promoters and there was supposed to be something with Mayweather and TMT with UFC but the pandemic ruined whatever that was they were working on. That's why there was all that media with Mayweather and Dana before and saying something about TMT and UFC next year we got big things going on. They were saying something to that extent. They were also trying to sign Clarissa Shields to Zuffa Boxing and I think they were also trying to go after Canelo.you do now the low end in boxing pay is just as bad as it is in bellator
It could be all of that since they would have the option to do all of that. They have all UFC fighters under contract so cross over fights would all be in-house for them. Yes they were after pro boxers as well. They were after big names and were rumored to be considering buying PBC before the pandemic. There were rumors of them wanting to sign Canelo and Clarissa Shields.Would Zuffa Boxing be MMA fighters signed by the UFC, boxing? Would it be Pro Boxers? Would it be Pro or Celeb boxers vs MMA fighters?
Wouldn't mind seeing Nate vs McGregor 3 as a Boxing match in a main event. Could do Nick vs Masvidal as another main event for a card. Max vs Dustin rematch, as a Boxing match works. Frankie vs Yan, Cody vs Aldo, Lando vs Dom, Tai vs Lewis.. all work as Boxing matches. Even Silva vs Paul and Badou Jack vs Paul, could work if that were the angle of Zuffa Boxing.
It was always going to be separate to shield the ufc from the ali act.It could be all of that since they would have the option to do all of that. It was actually going to be a thing, it just never panned out. All of this happened after the Conor fight. Pandemic ruined everything they may have been planning. Dana was hiring people for Zuffa boxing and rumors of UFC buying PBC. They were in talks with Floyd and TMT and had something planned right before the pandemic. Clarissa Shields and Canelo were rumored to be boxers they were trying to sign. Zuffa Boxing wasn't just for Conor, but the Conor and Floyd fight most likely made them really consider getting into boxing, Dana has always wanted to get into boxing. He started his career in boxing and not mma, he was also a boxer originally.zuffa boxing was never a thing it was jsut to promote conor fight and that all. floyd used the ufc and dana white for attention that all.
It would be separate but they can still do crossover fights and it would be easy for them to do it because they have control over both contracts. There wouldn't be any issues like trying to do crossover fights with 2 different promotions/sports that isn't under the same umbrella. It was always going to be separate to shield the ufc from the ali act.
They already did that with The Contender.
Basically a load of journeyman/bums outside of 2 or 3 guys.
It's why it would never work in Boxing.
It just gets trickier keeping the ali act away from one entity if they are melding the 2 entities together frequently. Even the conor - floyd fight they were very cautious not to trip things up.It would be separate but they can still do crossover fights and it would be easy for them to do it because they have control over both contracts. It would just be strictly for that fight. Do a separate one fight contract for the boxing cross over. It isn't mma so it wouldn't affect the mma contract. It just gets trickier keeping the ali act away from one entity if they are melding the 2 entities together frequently. Like I said, it’s not as easy and seamless as you are implying. There’s risk and they won’t do it flippantly. Again, they took great strides to stay out in the floyd fight and got pulled in at the end because the nsac made them.It would just be strictly for that fight. Zuffa Boxing was focused on after the Conor fight, not directly after but the Conor cross over was definitely part of the reason they wanted to work on it. All the Zuffa Boxing talk and the media snippet from Dana and Floyd/TMT was the year before Covid hit. They were saying next year he'll get Zuffa Boxing started and was already hiring someone to run Zuffa Boxing for him so he wouldn't be split while also working on UFC also. 1st year of the pandemic was the hardest hit since everyone went in panic mode, all countries/states went into full lockdowns and no public gatherings were allowed basically that whole year. It wasn't until the 2nd year that restrictions started getting lifted and certain states deciding not to continue on with lockdowns/quarantines/mandates. Covid affected everything, not just Zuffa Boxing. To think something like Covid during it's first year wouldn't affect the planning of business, social, and everyday life is not a proper assessment. It affected that for basically everyone in the world.the conor fight was years ago. so saying covid ruined it doesnt make sence. you do zuffa boxing right after the conor fight an but they didnt cause it wasnt gone happen.it jsut internet noise. just cause dana was sitting at a basketball game with floyd ment nothing.

Those were promotions already doing boxing. It stopped them like everyone else for a year. UFC was the only sport running because of Fight Island lol. You must not have great memory and not remembering what it was like during the first year of Covid. You really think UFC/Dana is going to focus on starting Zuffa Boxing during a pandemic when they were focused on making sure UFC fulfilled it's fights for their ESPN deal? When everything is shut down and they were focused on running their events at APEX? LOL Good thing you don't work for UFC/WME-IMG.covid didnt stop big money making boxing events from happening so saying covid stopped it doesnt make sence. floyd did events during covid. hell he did the logan paul thing an made 100 million.
again just cause dana and floyd sat court side at a baseball game and floyd teasing rumors or fighting khabob or dustin didnt floyd was leaving mayweather productions to make less money elsewhere. the reason floyd always makes the most money is cause he doesnt make a agent or promoter cause he his own promoter and agent.

Mayweather has his own promotion but he still co-promotes with PBC and Showtime. That isn't the same as Zuffa Boxing trying to start up and be a legit boxing promotion. The boxers are already signed to PBC/TMT/Showtime Sports. There are no boxers signed to Zuffa Boxing. What events would they have? What boxers would they have? How would they even be able to sign them to fight when the other promotions weren't even allowed to have events. Plus all the main top level boxers are all still signed to their promotions. You can only sign them when they become a free agent as well. You seem to think it's easy to just come out of nowhere with a boxing promotion and have legit boxers during the 1st year of the pandemic when everything was lockeddown and travel restrictions were in place for almost every country.
David Leduc bless. They should do boxing, but allow kicks, knees, elbows, rasslin', ground grapplin', knees and kicks to a downed opponent, spinning shit, flying shit, and headbutts.
