10/10. Best animated film in a very long time for me.

Wreck-it Ralph is another film I loved a lot but I felt there were a lot of missed opportunities in the 2nd half. I really thought they could have explored more game worlds. Too much time was spent in Candy Crush imo.

Why's that? I'm not sure I want to revisit WRECK-IT RALPH, and I think TANGLED is superior. Story and storytelling works in 2D and 3D both. Insofar I think it's still the best of this new non-Pixar generation, but admittedly I might be biased towards the Rapunzel storyline. I didn't see WIR in 3D, but I felt the references were cool. The story itself wasn't as charming as I'd hoped.

There's a lot of charm in ZOOTOPIA, and I think its main gravy can be found in the city-scapes, lighting, and focal range. I like the way they play with scale. I like that its Judy Hopps' story and that she's a cop. It's a pretty interesting and sophisticated move to go with a theme of Making Mistakes. I think it kinda follows the TANGLED model, pitting a naive but idealistic female with a rogue with a heart of gold. Snuggly Duckling = Mystic Springs Oasis without the callback.

I'd like to see fish in the sequel.

The lemmings made me laugh out loud.

I really can't stand Shakira.
Tangled was pretty good but Wreck-It Ralph just clicked with me. Thought it was very clever, charming, hilarious, sweet, exciting and the ending was epic and emotionally-charged for me. Ralph is among my top 3 favorite films from the "new non-Pixar generation."

Saw it last night, another really good movie from Disney. It did lack a scene of the cops beating a Black Panther for resisting arrest. Also would've liked if Spider-Ham was involved and the Mayor was demanding that Peter Porker get him pictures of that Spider-Ham. Every moment with the Sloths was great, the Polar Bear in the Russian Mobster tracksuit was tremendous, Lola Bunny getting competition and where are all the reptiles and insects? Probably not allowed in the big city.

ZOOTOPIA No. 1 for 2nd Week, Earns $431 Million Worldwide

Disney Animation Studios' Zootopia continued to rule the roost in its second weekend, while the J.J. Abrams-produced 10 Cloverfield Lane opened to a pleasing $25.2 million in North America.

Elsewhere, there was out-and-out carnage. Sacha Baron Cohen's comedy The Brothers Grimsby debuted to a dismal $3.2 million, the worst opening of all time for the British comedian. Fellow new offerings The Young Messiah and The Perfect Match fared only slightly better.

Zootopia enjoyed an incredible hold in its second weekend, falling a scant 33 percent to $50 million from 3,827 theaters for a domestic total of $142.6 million. Overseas, the news was just as good. Zootopia took in another $83.1 million for a foreign tally of $288.7 million — including a record $109 million in China — for a global haul of $431.3 million.

The Young Messiah (No. 7 with $3.4 million) and new romantic comedy The Perfect Match (No. 6 with $4.2 million) both beat Brothers Grimsby (No. 8 with $3.2 million).

Box Office: 'Zootopia,' '10 Cloverfield Lane' Roar; 'Brothers Grimsby' Craters With $3.2M

Took my 2 and a half year old to see it over the weekend, he loved it (didn't get out of his seat = quality flick lol) and the sloth dmv scene had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt the next day.

Glad Bateman got himself into one of these, reminds me I need to watch Bad Words again.

This movie was a lot better than I thought it would be. I only saw it because I had time to kill after a whale watching tour and my only other option was whiskey tango foxtrot.

The timing on all the comedic scenes was great. People laughed more for this film than during brothers grimsby.

Disney does it again it seems.
Its amazing the crazy worlds and buildings they can create with this animation seems like a live action version of this would could a billion dollars to make.

The new TMNT film had a preview before this film it was a film I was laughing at and not with. It was made terribly.

When I saw it, 90% of the audience was over 20, only 3 little kids in the audience.

ZOOTOPIA No. 1 Again for 3rd Week; Nears $600 Million Globally

In another blow for Lionsgate, YA film adaptation The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 1 opened to a disappointing $29.1 million from 3,740 theaters at the North American box office — a 44 percent decline from the last title in the Divergent series.

Nor is overseas coming to the rescue. Allegiant, reuniting stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James, is also soft internationally, grossing $22 million from 77 markets this weekend for a foreign total of $53.5 million and a global cume of $82.6 million. (It began rolling out offshore a week ago.). France leads with $8.1 million, followed by Brazil ($5.2 million).

Allegiant's underperformance paved the way for Zootopia to remain at No. 1 in its third weekend with a stellar $37.2 million domestically (it fell a slim 26 percent) to jump the $200 million mark in North America. And overseas, it earned another $64.8 million to finish Sunday with a foreign total of $389.9 million and global haul of $591.7 million. It's grossed $173.4 million in China to become the most successful animated film of all time in the Middle Kingdom.

This weekend's other wide release was Miracles From Heaven, Sony's faith-based offering starring Jennifer Garner and Queen Latifah. The movie, buoyed by a glowing A+ CinemaScore, delivered a strong five-day debut of $18.6 million after hitting theaters Wednesday. Its weekend take of $15 million is the fourth-best start of all time for a faith-based opening.

Box Office: 'Divergent 3' Stalls With Series-Low $29.1M; 'Zootopia' Nears $600M Globally

Fantastic film. My family loved the humor. I know it's wrong but Judy Hopps was thick in the back( if you catch my drift).

Am I going to cry like a bitch at another animated movie?

It seems I'm in a very small minority, but saw it on the weekend and found it a bit preachy. It had a lot going for it, but I thought the constant metaphors for racial issues (and all kinds of diversity issues) ended up being pretty hamfisted. Not that I disagree with the overall message, but I feel like the writing is way overrated (how is it clever when the metaphors are so blatantly obvious?). Rather than being a story with a message, I felt like the story was secondary.

That said it had some very funny moments, characters were good, and animation was amazing. Thought the Godfather parody bit was hilarious, and I would've told you beforehand that that joke was way overdone at this point. Obviously the sloth scene was great (although I saw that scene beforehand, which is too bad because its probably the biggest laugh in the movie). Really liked the Judy Hopps character and how she followed her dream of becoming a cop and all that good stuff.

I'd give it a 7/10. I think its good to have a message in your movie, but the way every bit of the story had to tie in to a timely issue (feminism, racism, governments using fear against the populace - seriously?) made it feel like it was crossing into PSA territory. Don't get the 99% Rotten Tomatoes bit at all. There have been better animated films recently.

Zootopia

9/10

I loved this , was basically a funny Buddy Cop movie with an animated spin and with it being animated animals some moments were enough of a surprise, also even though you started to get a feel for how it was going to end in the who is behind this whole thing fashion I like that it tried to keep you guessing.
