Zookeeper Gabe's Animal Thread V6.0

@Zookeeper Gabe Sorry you lost your male. The good news is that gargoyles are easy to breed. I wish I could say the same for leachies. I used to breed a few years ago and then sold everything due to life stuff. I got back into it 2 years ago and now that my collection is old and large enough to breed, I'm going to start attempting soon. I'm located in California. Let me know how your breeding attempt goes!

Is phillipe vosjoli still breeding them?

Pretty sure he is. I went to a reptile convention 2 months ago and talked to a couple vendors about him. They said they're surprised he's not there but maybe because he's gonna be at the big SoCal show on January. I've met him a couple times actually but I'm yet to purchase something from him. Hoping to change that.

Put me on the edge of my seat.

Yea some of the comments describe it as a descent into hell. Large numbers of fast moving serpents crawl out from everywhere. That poor little iguana had to turn and burn.

It hit the bottom of the last page. I'll post it again here for anyone interested in its awesomeness.

Yeah, he's literally the reason we have rhacs in this country. If you want to purchase his animals you're looking at big bucks. Grabbed a picture of my high red juvie female. I'm hoping to breed her late next year.

As for the baby iguana video, that was some intense shit. I love how the one at the end gets wrapped by multiple snakes and still gets away.

Bruh, make sure you turn on the sound at the bottom of the video too. Once he started burning down the beach and all those snakes continued to pour out along the way it looked like something out of an Indiana Jones movie. The escape mid way through it awesome but his final leap to the ledge at the end with a snake striking at him in the air is ridiculous. He has one chance to make that leap and not miss the ledge and he nails it. I had to watch that vid about 3 times to really soak it in. There was also a snake that struck at his leg when he was running up the rocks that missed by a centimeter.

EDIT: BTW that's one iguana Gabe, I'm pretty sure that's one continuous sequence.

Bruh, I'm Zoofuckingkeeper Gabe. You think i already haven't seen that at least ten times?

Hah, it's really amazing footage. I'm sure some of it is cut and pasted together to make it seem like one continuous shot. But I don't care, it's amazing.

Its from Planet Earth II, I was under the assumption that was a new video. I can't find any videos of it on YouTube older than about 20 hours.

Yeah I can't wait for the entire series. It's been all over my Facebook since it got released.

This video delivers. Seriously.

Here I was thinking, why haven't I see this clip before. I've watched most of Sir David Attenborough narrated documentaries. Had to google it to find out that it's a new series that is still on going.

I'm so getting the blu ray when it's out.

edit:
Been 2 months since I last visited this thread, damn my timezone, also never seeing this on first page for me to memory. Nice to have caught up the last 5 pages though.

Yea I'm waiting until the end, box set worthy IMO.

Awesome threads, man. I wish I could work with animals as my child self intended. May be that I still can... anyways, going to look through these archives. Great stuff.

Wow. Thanks for the share.

Iguana got his cardio that day. The number of snakes pursuing him down that beach is nuts. Once he realized he was surrounded he was like fuck it, afterburners activate!

He's lucky they weren't venomous.

The numbers of them were ridiculous and they were HUGE. The first one that is chasing him at the beginning of the video looks in the 8-10 foot range. How would you like to take a nice stroll down that beach?

Hey @Zookeeper Gabe , I just got a slider turtle, it's around 3 inches diameter got any tips for keeping it happy?

It's in a tank with a filter, a small plastic island, and sunlight exposure. water gets replaced weekly.

Also, I believe that she wants to hibernate, she's been placing some pebbles on top of her shell.

Cheers and thanks
