Zookeeper Gabe's Animal Thread V6.0

I used to have a parrotlet and e loved one of my cats and would chill with her. After her sudden and terrible death (she was my favorite kitty ever) his behavior changed and worsened and he died almost exactly a year later suddenly. Cropped out my ex lol

Cicada killer from today at the zoo. There were four buzzing around my head.

There's a family of grey fix that visit my house almost every night. This is mom and 1 kit watching my friends and I the other night.

This just happened. So fucking cool, grey fox and her kit walking through my yard. You can see the kit in the first couple of seconds of the video.

What happened to the bird?

But yeah anyways, It makes me think of the Bible (no religious) and how it was said that all animals coexisted peacefully at one time. Until Adam and Eve fucked everything up and they all had to eat each other for sustenance. It kinda makes sense too because when animals eat and hunt each other there's no malice behind it. We just see it as nature gon' nature. Makes you wonder.

After Bell died my bird started plucking all his feathers (he was a rescue and he had grown so many interacting with her) and then one day he seemed a little off and found him dead the next am. Was sad.

I've always like fox, they're usually a good thing to see. If you see a lot of fox it means there's no large predators like coyotes around and the bird population is up.
When I first got my african grey, rescue like yours, he'd plucked out a lot of his feathers and looked pretty rough for the first 4 months. Then he settled in and became his annoying little self.

I would never support a place that breeds and allows pictures with cubs. Make sure you take what they say with a grain of salt and be careful with what they say is safe. Ask lots and lots of questions for the article (dot let it be a fluff piece)

Caught a couple of dragonflies in the act.

Day in the life of an ancient tree kangaroo. Paul is the oldest make in captivity at 20+ years now. Curled up next to his favorite toy, in a bag and catching some rays.

Never even heard of a Tree Kangaroo until this post. Good to learn about a new animal on a Saturday morning. Went to google and read up some information. It's no wonder I never heard of it.

The last pic looks like he is thinking, what am I doing here.

we went and to my untrained eye, they seemed like a pretty good place. apparently they no longer breed them which is a good thing. i dont know if they decided that themselves or if they were forced to stop. the feeding was not hand feeding. there was a tube through the fence and you never actually got close enough to where they could get you. also, no pictures. the youngest lions were over a year old. they also had a young giraffe they took from the zoo when it closed last year. he was the only animal there you could actually touch. you could feed him some lettuce.

what do you think of this? again he was a rescue, so is this acceptable?

That sounds much better, giraffe feelings are fine IMO. As long as they are trained to come over and has adequate space.

yea, he had a big area outside of the enclosre to walk around. all in all i feel a little sad that such creatures are confined to a place like this, but if thats the only option, its better than nothing. i was definitely glad to hear they were not breeding anymore

Still waiting for my Tree Kangaroo to arrive.

Looking @ you Gabe...

Meanwhile this video shows a Scientology Mantis going Clear. Hubbard bless.
