Never quite understood how they tapped into dogs brains and found out they wanted their tails docked. To me, it seems like a cruel ritual.

My big boy has all his assets intact.

It's because it makes certain breeds look meaner.

The long flowing waggy tail is a big tell.

Same reason the crop big floppy ears.

I'm not going to get into cruelty or not as it was such a normal process years ago and people were told those areas had little to no nerves or feeling or nothing more than an ear piercing. But the more tough look was definately prized.

We had a Doberman with cropped ears and tail that we adopted when he was 1 year old. I was shocked when years later I saw my first uncropped Doberman. It seemed to completely change the dogs presence

I've seen the odd one but kennel club breeders mostly stopped it.
