@Zookeeper Gabe Sorry if you've already mentioned this, but how are things at your zoo during the lockdown? I've heard reports that some zoos are having to consider euthanising some of their animals as they are running out of money / food.
So far things are ok, we actually just opened up yesterday to limited crowds with a Bunch of extra precautions. Budgetary wise we are pretty fucked, being closed for almost three months is going to hurt for a long time. But as far as euthanizing animals the only place I really heard say that was one zoo in Germany.

belugas are tough and seeing any animal in a subpar exhibit hurts especially one like a beluga.

Hey fish crew- do you think fish are capable of affection? How do you explain this?

I've owned fish that responded positively to me, but that's only because they knew food was coming. This behavior seems like genuine affection.

Neat video of a striped burrfish interacting with someone. They're found all over the east coast from New Jersey to Florida. Most of the puffers I've kept display this behavior as well.

Shaq getting his Koi fish, including one of Tracy's Koi. I followed Rich's posts about him traveling with the fish and it was amazing how the community stepped in to help. Rich drove 10 hours straight making multiple stops at peoples houses to do water changes along the way. The things Rich does for the community is just amazing. The fish that went in Shaq's pond were rescues.

I can’t get this video to play
Guys in a boat come up to a sleeping sea otter. One of the dudes nudges him in the tummy. Sea otter startles awake, does the little "oh shit" dance mammals do in those situations, and dashes away. Lots of people commenting "awe, otters are so cute" while I'm here thinking "those people in the video are shitheads".

copying over from old thread (c'mon clippy, get on the ball!)
What does this mean

I'm no cat expert, but that looks like a display of dominance grooming. Grey cat showing who's the boss.
