News Zabit is making a return!

I'd rather they bring in his undefeated brother who is ten years younger.

Don't worry, everyone here is a fucking idiot and does not know who that is. They think the guy who's been retired over a half a decade with chronic health issues is the one.

I doubt Zabit is coming back. I was sad when he left, but don't really want ot see him comeback now.
His brother in UFC is another story though.

Oh, I thought he was off training to be a doctor or something.

I remember def thinking that was an excuse to avoid fighting elite guys in 5 rounders lol.
Oh no you’re remembering correctly, he made a vague post implying that he was, which I said was bullshit at the time, and people on here said I was an asshole lol

What’s crazy is the same people, now knowing that never happened, will still not see it for what it is

Yair Rodriguez blatantly ducked him repeatedly, & Yair is a guy who fought for & won the interim belt, & challenged for the undisputed belt. It was well known that a lot of top 10 ranked guys didn’t wanna fight him.

Same thing happened to Khabib & Islam when they were ascending, they were seen as very tough fights with more downside than upside. Khabib was on a 9 fight win streak in the ufc before getting a title shot, Islam was on a 10 fight win streak in the UFC before getting a title shot. Along the way, neither guy faced many highly ranked opponents, because the ranked guys knew it was dangerous & high chance of losing, so they were avoided. No, I’m not a Muslim and I’m not even a Khabib or Islam fan, I just call it like I see it. I have stated numerous times that Khabib is nowhere near being the GOAT despite his record
I don’t see how this is a relevant point unless you’re implying he quit fighting because he couldn’t get opponents

He was overhyped anyways

oh no here they come
Well, you're right. He obviously is incredibly talented, but didn't have the power to end fights quickly and then you see his cardio go to shit in a 3 round fight. A fight vs Holloway would be the equivalent of torture for Zabit.

he was not ahead of his time, he had 2 rds of cardio. maybe if he was a HW and not a FW that would be considered ahead of it's time. doesn't matter how fancy or fast your car is if the gas tank is empty, ask Umar.
Conor had a bad gas tank and was double champ so that disproves the notion that you can't be elite if you have bad cardio. Derrick Lewis has poor cardio and has the most KO's ever.

Zabit was technically brilliant and maybe his gas tank had to do with the fact that he had a very dynamic fighting style. Guy throws crazy kicks and goes for flashy takedowns. He could definitely improve that, he only had 6 fights in the UFC and dominated all of them.

Conor was knocking dude's dead in 1 rd, Zabit, not so much.

So after all he didn’t make to the med school after years of trying?

lol no it hasnt. Quit saying shit that you heard Dana or Rogan say who literally have an interest in exaggerating things.

Aldo's era and Max's Era were definitely better.

Almost all of the same fighters have either moved up a weight class or many of the same top5/10 are the same guys just 5 years older. The average age of a feather weight is like 33. The only young guy to accomplish recently much is Ilia, and he is moving up.

Zabit took little damage and was technically ahead of his time. Not saying he wins the title, but he will be fine in this weak era of featherweight, especially if he takes the right fights.

Prime GSP still beats any Welterweight alive.

205 is a joke compared to 20 years ago.

Apart from Aspinall, Heavyweight is the weakest its ever been.

Prime DJ still is way better than Pantoja and fought guys like Horiguchi while Pantoja fights Kai Asakura.

Prime Cruz is infinitely more technical than Merab, who just has elite cardio.

Khabib still gets the best of Islam in training sessions.

Evolution my ass
You quoted some of the biggest name of UFC history like GSP, Khabib, Cruz, DJ, even in their prime, to justify the comeback of Zhabit

ZHABIT

A guy who has a gas tank that can't even make it to the third round, let alone championship rounds, let alone now that he's older.

Lmao, chill bro, there is no need to became salty. He's just Zhabit.

Idk why people are against this. I don’t see any downside at all. If he’s still good, the division gets better.

If he’s shit, someone can capitalize on his name (whatever value it still has in 2025).

Needs that 25k fight 25k win for med school
He made almost 200k in his last fight alone back in 2019. Your average doctor makes 200k a year, Zabit made that in a just one fight, but but UFc fighters are broke and work harder than your average employed, I call bullshit. Hell Kevin Holland look he barely trained prior to his last loss prior to his win over Gunnar.

Doesnt matter who you are, can't step away from a sport for a number of years and expect to compete if you arent already at the top. Just reality. He quit fighting for a reason.

He will fight in lightweight division, probably.

34 years old and very long fighter. I doubt he can still make 145
