News Zabit is making a return!

He's coming in right before he expires as a FW. He does have a skillset most can't handle. I'll watch it for sure. Always thought it was a dumb decision to walk away when he was right there at a title shot, no matter how noble being a doctor is.

Damn, i cant believe its been 5.5 years since he fought.....

I dont think you can take that type of time off and not come back as a shell of your former self. Love watching him fight and think he would've been champ but I dont see this going well for him.

What was the original issue to begin with?

Honestly, I think he just fell out of love with the sport. He's been involved in combat sport from a young age, even going to a fight oriented boarding school where he trained 3x a day.

Noticing while watching Dagestan fighters stories and Tiger Muay Thai stories since Oct of last year, Zabit is seen training in videos. He also been spotted at the UFC PI helping others in camps the past yr or so randomly. So def not surprised that he's making a comeback if he follows through on it.

Dude is 34, by the time he fights he'd be damn near 35, this ain't happening lol.

Sport has evolved

He's older

Stay the fuck retired

lol no it hasnt. Quit saying shit that you heard Dana or Rogan say who literally have an interest in exaggerating things.

Aldo's era and Max's Era were definitely better.

Almost all of the same fighters have either moved up a weight class or many of the same top5/10 are the same guys just 5 years older. The average age of a feather weight is like 33. The only young guy to accomplish recently much is Ilia, and he is moving up.

Zabit took little damage and was technically ahead of his time. Not saying he wins the title, but he will be fine in this weak era of featherweight, especially if he takes the right fights.

Prime GSP still beats any Welterweight alive.

205 is a joke compared to 20 years ago.

Apart from Aspinall, Heavyweight is the weakest its ever been.

Prime DJ still is way better than Pantoja and fought guys like Horiguchi while Pantoja fights Kai Asakura.

Prime Cruz is infinitely more technical than Merab, who just has elite cardio.

Khabib still gets the best of Islam in training sessions.

Evolution my ass

he was not ahead of his time, he had 2 rds of cardio. maybe if he was a HW and not a FW that would be considered ahead of it's time. doesn't matter how fancy or fast your car is if the gas tank is empty, ask Umar.

He was never going to become a doctor lol, the same way he didn’t stop fighting due to religion or whatever other bullshit reasons he claimed to put himself over

He hit the point where he was gonna be tested every fight, there were clear holes in his game, and he was comfortable, and making money not fighting… that’s why he retired
Yair Rodriguez blatantly ducked him repeatedly, & Yair is a guy who fought for & won the interim belt, & challenged for the undisputed belt. It was well known that a lot of top 10 ranked guys didn’t wanna fight him.

Same thing happened to Khabib & Islam when they were ascending, they were seen as very tough fights with more downside than upside. Khabib was on a 9 fight win streak in the ufc before getting a title shot, Islam was on a 10 fight win streak in the UFC before getting a title shot. Along the way, neither guy faced many highly ranked opponents, because the ranked guys knew it was dangerous & high chance of losing, so they were avoided. No, I’m not a Muslim and I’m not even a Khabib or Islam fan, I just call it like I see it. I have stated numerous times that Khabib is nowhere near being the GOAT despite his record
