If you go to YouTube on a clean/reset browser, in incognito mode, in which case you won't be signed into any Google account, then finally deny all permissions to YouTube when prompted, which it uses to to track your viewing history in order to customize your feed, then there is no homepage. It offers no recommendations. It's blank. You have to go to the sections for there to be any video thumbnails populated (ex. Trending, Music, Movies, Gaming, etc.)

Even then, it's variable what you see. It depends on the IP address you share with it. So, for example, if you use a VPN to change your country, in the "Sports" section, the feed will recommend less NBA/NFL and more soccer if you spoof yourself to be accessing the site from Europe or South America than if you show a North American address.

You can usually tell by the channel name too because it will be some ridiculous shit like ‘Super Awesome Cars’ or ‘Best Films ever Seriuosly’

Anyways girl looked pretty hot so I watched it. Shit she was saying was obviously retarded but she looked drop dead gorgeous. Then started thinking how is this whore not more famous she‘s stunning. Then reading the comment I realised she was AI generated. Of course I am a fossil when it comes to all that shit and I didn t even know such content was possible in this quality. But give a few years for these algorithms to learn and I am not sure that it will be possible at all to tell the difference, it‘s insane.

YouTube is definitely turning into shit and not just for the reasons you mentioned. For one, they no longer have a monopoly over video sharing. It used to be the go to place for any given video you want to look up, now there's many videos that exist in other sites that don't even exist on YouTube. Especially if you want just regular raw footage, usually you have to look somewhere else. A lot of the stuff on YouTube is just false narrative ai stuff, or has some goofy guy talking over clips. I guess they are just trying to compete with tiktok and Snapchat but it's sad.
