YouTube deletes Natural News channel: Victory against pseudoscience, or conservative purge?

There's been a conservative purge on youtube for a while now.
No idea why "conservatives" are so fucking eager to be associated with pseudoscience, religious quackery, racism, misogyny, conspiracy theories, big government intervention against the first amendment, etc. But hey, it's your disco- you dance your dream.

It's always struck me as strange that in the US this sort of pseudoscience and CT is associated with the right.
Over here this is something I've always associated with the left.

Anti Vaccination and Anti GMO was originally on the Left from I;ve experienced.

Climate change denial and Creationism was on the right.

In the past few years I've been noting more right-wingers jumping on the Anti Vax bandwagon. Some of them (Rand Paul) seem to be doing it purely out of "You don't have a right to tell me what to do" while others are buying into the antiscience side of it.

The Right in the US has fully embraced the notion that Higher Education is just Liberal Indoctrination

Libs are totalitarians who despise dissenting views. Can't be going around denying things they say are true or else ban hammer. Happens everywhere libs are in charge, even the war room does it.
As I've asked over and over again, why, according to conservatives, are all media platforms controlled by librils!!

If ya'll are so smart, why aren't YouTube, Twitter, Google, and Sherdog run by conservatives?

(Or maybe these platforms have clear user guidelines, and some conservatives just aren't smart enough to follow them, and then other conservatives, not much smarter themselves, cry out, "LIBERAL CONSPIRACY!"...

No, vast liberal conspiracy is much more likely.

Liberalism (n.): a mental disorder that simultaneously makes its sufferers too stupid to see the basic nature of reality, yet endows them with the super-intelligence necessary to invent cutting edge media platforms and engage in complex shadow-conspiracy campaigns against their intellectually superior conservative opponents.)

but do you see me asking to censor them? No.

America has finally done.
If people can get AIDS from HIV is now a political issue.

...Alex Jones is all over youtube.

There are also 100 videos claiming Obama is Muslim, gay, or born in Africa. There are 100 videos claiming Hilary Clinton is a mass murderer of up to 100 individuals who crossed her. There are videos claiming she is part of an underground child prostitution ring. In the aftermath of every tragedy, right wingers create youtube videos explaining why it's definitely Anitfa, or a false flag to steal their guns. Etc.

Be honest in your assertion here. There is obviously not a, "Ban right wing conspiracies and allow left wing conspiracies" motive. To claim so is to ignore the mountains of evidence right in front of your face.
Of course I am not talking in absolutes, but during the recent youtube purge, it sure seems like most of the people that are losing their channels are either aligned on the right or people that don't support certain agendas.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't see a lot of people aligned on the left being caught up in this recent youtube purge. Like I don't know any.

I don't watch youtube. But I have noticed that most of the people on this site that just love youtube politics are right-wing posters. I also notice that anytime whacky youtube videos are posted that end up being deleted by the Mods, they tend to be crazy irresponsible far-right wing videos.

I can give lots of specific examples if you want.

That is not because Mods are targeting right-wing videos, it's because right-wing posters are the only ones posting crazy videos.

So when I hear that a far-right Youtube channel is shut down, I don't think it is some attack on Conservatism (that is laughable). I think it is just reflecting the reality of the situation, which is that there is a far-right fringe that produces an enormous amount of bullshit, and they actively look for ways to claim that they are targeted. It is part of their propaganda.

Honestly, I'm trying to think of a single crazy left-wing video that's been posted here, and I can't think of one. I can name a dozen crazy right-wing videos that have been posted, sometimes multiple times while Mods continuously ask the posters to stop posting the video. Lol.

Go to the Meme thread sometime and count the false facts, and keep a little scorecard. The Right-wing fringe produces an enormous amount of propaganda.

(Covered by DailyKos and thegatewaypundit, with predictably different slants.)

Over the weekend, YouTube deleted the "Health Ranger" channel, citing violation of YouTube's Community Guidelines. The Natural News channel is run by Mike Adams, who is unsurprisingly outraged, claiming violation of the 1st Amendment:

"We have now entered the Twilight Zone, and the tyrants in charge are left-wing lunatics who are, without exception, totalitarians who despise dissenting views. As they are demonstrating by the hour, they are more than willing to exploit their positions of power to silence their political opposition and destroy the subscriber audiences of alternative authors or journalists. Make no mistake that this is all a prelude to a massive false flag event that I have described as “The Mother of all False Flags.”

It is not the first time Google and YouTube have been accused of targeting conservative content.

Adams has repeatedly been criticized as a purveyor of pseudoscience for his various claims, which include vaccine denialism and the alleged vaccines-autism link, AIDS/HIV denialism, quack cancer treatments, and conspiracy theories about "Big Pharma". As David Gorski, MD Ph.D. summarized on Science-Based Medicine:

"I still don't know whether Adams really and truly believes in the nonsense he promotes. I really don't and still can't tell. For example, did Adams relocate to Ecuador because he really believes in the "natural" lifestyle or did he do it to escape those pesky laws in the U.S. that frown on selling unproven remedies. I do know, however, that Adams appears to have an utter contempt for his own readers, as evidenced by his repeating outrageous straw men such as the claim that SBM says that susceptibility to disease is totally random and that there's nothing anyone can do about it and bizarre falsehoods like his claim in the Vaccine Zombie video above that vaccines can make your testicles fall off."

As far as the claim that this move by YouTube is a violation of the 1st Amendment:

It's sad to see people on the so-called "left" defending the sort of corporate tyranny that right-wingers and libertarians have been championing for over a century.

Natural news offers good info. I imagine that big pharma wanted their channel killed off and Youtube happily did it.
They had like 1700 videos and 350k subscribers FFS

Its time to send Youtube into the Myspace ranks and kill it off.
Bitchute can replace them.
What good information does it offer. Those who run the site are AIDS/HIV denalists, believe vaccines cause autism and quack cancer treatments.

That website is full of massive amounts of incorrect information and outright false claims without a shred of evidence to back them up. They are in the same category as Vani Hari better known as Food Babe.

Lastly the channel wasn't shut down because of "Big Pharma" it was shutdown because of the repeated violations in relation to the videos they were posting. I been subbed to them for awhile just to see what bullshit they spew. It's down infuriating to know there is people out there who believe what Natural News posts. I mean for fucks sake Vaccine-Preventable Diseases are reemerging thanks to anti-vaxxers.

The "New World" had a good run.

Where are the liberal YouTube channels claiming that Donald Trump is really a Kenyan Islamist vampire who is running a child sex ring out of a pizza restaurant?

How about ones claiming he's literally Hitler or a Nazi?

So no whacky theories allowed on YouTube?

I don't watch much youtube, but I'm very cynical of this narrative.
I heard exactly the same thing about the demonetisation of videos, and that was clearly financially motivated. Funnily enough, when I looked I also found a bunch of left-wingers claiming it was a "progressive purge" due to Tim Black, David Packman and Jimmy Dore getting demonetised.
The American right, and especially the far right, thrives on their persecution complex of late.

There are hundreds of whacky theories on Youtube. Thousands even. Most of the right-wing, from what I can tell. There is no rule against that.

However, from time to time some channels seem to cross a threshold for what Youtube feels comfortable hosting. That is a very extreme line to cross, and Youtube is welcome to explain their reasoning for where that line is.
