Crime You're Stranded in a Remote Antarctic Station with a Maniac - What do you do?

Have you done any kind of training or drills with your sword cane or are you just hoping to wing it if the shit goes down ?

A life and death duel with a maniac is not really a good time to use a weapon for the first time.
I've been in a ton of real life fighting situations. Some that were just fist fights and some that were much more dangerous. I can handle myself with or without a weapon.

I know how to keep distance and slash limbs as they come forward I have done that exact thing in real fighting situations with clubs and I know when to lunge it straight through their body if they get close enough that I can't keep them at bay. Anybody that can handle themselves reasonably well becomes profoundly formidable with a real sword in their hands.

But honestly, I also think you're exaggerating how ineffective a real sword would be, even with an inexperienced person who can act violently, but hasn't done a lot of it in real life.

Mine is from Cold steel which is a reputable company. The blade is genuine stainless steel and it's good steel and I had it sharpened to a razor sharp level at a local fabrication shop upon arrival. The sheath is made of pipe metal strong enough to use as a bludgeon and the top of it I sharpened so that it is also sharp enough to stab someone with.

I also have a cane mace from Cold steel which is also indestructible cannot break while using and I like it better as it's better looking and it feels more classy when I walk around with it and I take it around just about as often as I take that sword.

I like my chances against any man alive when I carry the sword.

Jesus christ talk about a masculinity crisis.

How do you have a 9 v 1 situation where the 1 psycho already beat the shit out of one and raped another, and the 9 are too chicken shit to do anything about it other than send an email and consider walking 150km to in the fucking freezing cold to escape?

I know most people are pussies, I know that scientists aren't exactly tough guys, but this is such an egregious of a situation I can't wrap my head around it. I'd have four others hold him down and while I break the guys legs after the rape. I mean how strong can the one psycho scientist be?

This is why everybody should learn how to fight. Just take at least 1 year out of your life to learn BJJ and boxing or something. This is 9 vs fucking 1 for christs sake.
At least booby trap the guy....

If it's not cost prohibitive for you I'd test that cane sword to destruction and buy a new one. At least that way you know what to expect. Stainless steel really isn't a great material for swords and I suspect yours will bend easily.

Seen it tested on YouTube. It can hack through a pig bone and all. The guys that sharpened it said it's really good steel too. They were very surprised.

Same with the cain mace, nearly indestructible really impossible to break.

I've got a Cold Steel Gladius Machete and a Norse Hawk Axe. I agree they produce some high quality stuff.

Well ... now the speculation game has begun.

Here are those involved.

So what we know is that the rapist asshole has... raped 1 woman, beaten up the Team Leader (Kelcey), and threatened the life of another member.

Kelcey is in the clear.

Alain, Lebogang, NKululeko, Tumelo, and Nivek are all suspects and one of them has a death threat on him by the suspect.

Either Dr. Sihle, Athi, or Geomarr were raped.

We could try to do this as a Game of Clue and see who gets the closest? Too soon?

He's apologized, so it's all good now.

<{nope}>

Here's their job titles:
"
  • Mbulaheni Kelcey Maewashe, team leader and a senior meteorological technician
  • Nivek Ghazi, deputy team leader and an electronics engineer
  • Dr. Sihle Mpho Lawana
  • Nkululeko Welcome Khoza, a mechanical engineer
  • Athenkosi Mabope, a communications engineer
  • Geomarr van Tonder, an electronics engineer
  • Allowed Tumelo Seepane, an instrumentation technician
  • Alian Stuart Jacobs, a diesel mechanic
  • Lebogang James Tsime, a electro-mechanical engineer "

That above was taken from here and includes several other photos of the crew members: https://nypost.com/2025/03/19/world...orker-who-snapped-and-started-attacking-them/
