Simply dropping testing is slippery slope, has life altering consequences and greatly changes the culture of MMA, and possibly becomes a continuing science experiment. This is a sport about technique and character, not designer drugs.

Educated and experienced people need to find a healthy and safe middle ground.

They didn't test in PRIDE. Fighters have said it was in their contract. Google a Rampage quote. This was a UFC fight btw. They have drug testing policys which Jon has failed two times. This is the third so l guess we'll see his b sample. I'm sure he just ate too many gummy bears or whatever the excuse is these days.

Combat sports have life altering consequences already. If you're not prepared to risk that you're in the wrong sport. People are so ignorant to think Professional sports and PED's haven't always been linked. They always have and always will. There's nothing you can do to stop it. PRIDE was more exciting than UFC and I am sure letting guys juice to the gills was a big part of it.

I think the main problem would be that the champions with the most money would just keep getting better gear than the less wealthy newcomers. (maybe that's why we used to see longer title defense runs?)
