Your thoughts after Diaz/McGregor RD1

What was going through your head after the first round?

I was surprised at how easily Conor was hitting Diaz, and also that Diaz was taking the shots pretty well. He didn't look hurt. Was really hoping the fight wouldn't be stopped due to the cut.
I expected Conor to land more in round 2 and possibly put Diaz away, but he had no gas left, especially after started landing the 1-2s.

I thought conor would throw a lot more kicks. He missed many punches but also landed many and i thought he beat the shit out of diaz. Conors head movement was fantastic, diaz stayed out of range but lots of action. As a massive conor fan, it was a beautiful fight. Dramatic and entertaining.

I thought he looked fine after the first round. Very confident and eager to get back in. Maybe a little too eager. Should have set the pace better in the second. Gone for the body and legs more and stayed out of range.

I think that's the first time Nate's been tagged that much in a round (except for the Thompson fight, but can't remember round 1).

It's hard man. When you are that tired and eating shots your body gives up. He basically gave up when he shot for the TD. I'm sure he preferred getting submitted than being pounded on. But I wouldn't say anyone who fights for a living has a glass heart, certainly not at the level Mcgregor trains at.

He overestimated his power and the ability to put Diaz away. I'm sure if he had to do it again, he would go slower and pick his shots and focus on Nate's legs more. But hey, you learn from your mistakes.

Nate was definitely better at picking his shots. His missed shots were only due to Conor getting out of the way, rather than Diaz aiming for the air. Wouldn't call it an even round, def a 10-9 for Conor.
