Wouldn't be surprised. Max has the chance to be a 2 division champion, this is the most Important fight of his life. This is where you see people rise to the occasion and pull some deep shit out of themselves. Injuries and short notice aside, I think we have a good chance of seeing the best Max ever here.

Whether that's enough to beat Khabib? who knows. Definitely wouldn't sleep on him though.

Especially If this goes 5 rounds. Max doesn't break and gets stronger as the fight goes on.

Khabib is obviously the smart bet on paper though.
