Your plan for 10mil dollars

I can't understand why anyone would bother buying property if you have $10M.

To invest $10M would take about 15 minutes.

Buy a few stock ETF's which own nearly every publicly listed business of significance in the world.
Buy US Small Cap Value ETF
Buy Gold ETF
Buy a couple Bond ETFs
Stick some in my bank account.

Balance it back into ratio every few years... which also takes about 15 minutes. Property is work, you're better off just buying a REIT ETF if real estate is what you're after.
I've owned some rentals for a while now and understand it pretty well. Don't have any experience with stocks and would be afraid of losing money.

I would buy some property with a barn on it and rescue dogs. Maybe some goats and a donkey as well. I would hire homeless Military vets to help work it, and they can live on the property. I would call it Vets and Pets. And throw fundraisers for it to help keep the place running. I would also buy some property on a lake, and maybe a ski mountain.

Probably buy a $3-$4 million dollar house, buy some toys to play with, go on some nice vacations, invest maybe $1-$2 million, and then live on the ~$4 million that would be left over.

I'd probably still work, at least part time, to keep some income flowing.

I'd pay off my mortgage, finish off some renovations and then just find 3-4 different interest bearing accounts (so I am diversified in case one or two of them go bankrupt) and I'd just continue my life as is.

I'd get bored if I wasn't working in some capacity and I like what I do. I'd probably go on more holidays though... and there are some really awesome new Porsches about to be released so I'd probably update my current cars.

Pay off the house, invest a lot in low risk stuff and start some sort of business in something I care about, like music, boxing etc.

10 million, buy a couple properties, maybe 2 million total value. Invest like 5 million. Live off the 3 after paying off any and all debt.

Wouldn’t change my lifestyle drastically but I’d be done being a cop and absolutely use a chunk to get a kick ass lawyer and get back to over 50% custody with my kid.

Imagine you just simply receive 10mil dollars and you can do what you want with it.
What do you then?
Are you going to travel the world, leave your current job?
Invest in something and still work?
Move to some expensive house and just chill there for the rest of your life ?
Are you going to take care of your familiy members ?
I take 2 million just for house reno and play.
2 million for my mother and brother.

2 million for my wife's parents.

4 million in the bank and live like its not there.

A few fun expenditures, like a Lexus IS 500 F Sport, and the rest in an index fund.

I'd spend about 2 or 3 million buying two houses - one on the west coast of Canada and one in Europe along with 2 small, efficient and durable cars for each home. I'd take 4 mil and put it in the bank.

go on a moderate spending spree - like maybe 20-30 grand buying good quality but not crazy expensive sporting equipment (road, mountain, touring bikes for me and family; snowboard; SCUBA equipment; hiking/camping gear), some decent quality clothing.

I'd take a million and a half or so and break it into smaller chunks to send anonymously to 50 or so good people I worked/studied/traveled with over my years. they'd each get something ranging from like 10-150 grand.

It all depends on your spending habits, but 10 million is way more than enough to retire comfortably that's for sure.

Apartments to make rent money

Here i would be able to buy good apartment in main city with 200-300k each

Even keeping some money for the instant fun, that's lot of apartments to generate monthly income (plus in long run you can sell one or all, likely at higher price)

Slowly find out who the big coke dealer that brings in pounds to my city. Invest in some transport/defense. Agree to absorb the first buy with demands of no bullshit showing up at my door.

Which city? Things can get wild for you in some blue cities.

Would you enjoy doing that work on a $5 million dollar real estate portfolio that you paid $8 million dollars for?

Because you're not making it out like you're buying the bottom of the market with this post.
4 Million dollars gets you 4 detached houses with small yards in halifax mate. Maybe 5 if you buy half a duplex as the last house.

Milan, Italy

You can make deals with real estate agencies to handle the rent, they will hold a % for themselves (around10% iirc) but you can make the contract to cover basically any shit-tenant scenario wich will be handled by agency and you get money no matter what

I'm not a landlord of extra houses (we just bought our own apartment and still paying some of it) but know people that have multiple apartments and they do stupid easy money all while their property keep rising in value through years
Of course most of them bitch a lot about problems but that's because they're all greedy enough to don't want pay anything to let agency handle shit

With our cost of living 10M magic gift one here would never need work again with WAY higher than average month income, have some 100K for the fun and even see rest of money grow through time beyond the initial gift

I would give it to the Black community as part of our past due reparations programme

I would buy property - one larger house in Moscow suburbs, one smaller wooden one in Karelia, both with a bit of land. I would buy new cars for me, my wife and my dad, and renovate our old countryhouse for the sake of nostalgia. I would help my relatives fix minor financial/property issues they have. That would leave me at 7-7.5 mil. I would take out 0.5 mil for fun, travelling and costs at hand and invest the rest in a well diversified low risk portfolio.
I would leave my job the next day I get the money and take 9-12 months off, then would probably go back to working again just so I don't get bored. However, I might do photography instead of returning to office work if my investment portfolio does good and stable.

Fuck. I need to get my hands on those 10 mil.

I would "buy" a cosplayer, instead of having to use my personality like right now, i would just use my money
