Your Favorite Westerns

Tombstone. Especially due to Val Kilmer's role as Doc Holliday. One of my favorite movie characters of all-time.

"Yore a Daisy if you do!"

Cowboy, "He's so drunk he's probably seeing double!"

Doc, "Well ah have two guns, one for each of you!"

Earp, "You don't have to do this."

Doc, "That is a Hell of a thing for you to say to me."

Earp, "Let's finish it."

Doc, "Indeed, sir! The last charge of Wyatt Earp and his Immortals!"

"Why Johnny Ringo...you look like someone just walked over yore grave."

Ringo, "Fight's not with you, Holliday."

Doc, "Ah beg to differ, sir. We started a game we never got to finish. Play for blood, remember? And this time(shows Ringo his Badge)it's legal"

Ringo, "Ah was just foolin' around."

Doc(smiles)"Ah wasn't...":icon_twis

Ringo, "OK, lunger...I'll put you out of yore misery."

Doc, "Say when..."

Doc draws and fires. He shoots Ringo through the skull. Ringo is dead on his feet but staggers forward, still trying to fire his pistol

Doc, "Oh Johnny! C'mon!...Cmon!(Ringo collapses)You ain't no Daisy! You ain't no Daisy at all! Poor soul...you were just too highly strung."

Wow, I'm shocked, SHOCKED that There Will Be Blood has only gotten a couple of mentions.

I liked it.

Silverado
Barbarosa
Lonesome Dove
Pale Rider
Tombstone

I saw Alapalooza (sp?) and I had high hopes because it had an awesome cast, but it was the most disappointing western I've ever seen. Absolute crap with an awesome cast and high budget (for a Western).

Three pages and no one mentioned Open Range? That movie was awesome.

My favorite Western of the modern era of cinema.

If Kevin Cosner was born 20-30 years earlier, we'd know him for doing as many Westerns as Clint Eastwood or The Duke.

The Good, the bad and the Ugly
Once upon a time in the west
The unforgivable

Arguably the single greatest line in any Western,

"If you have to shoot, then shoot, don't talk.":icon_twis

Saw Rango on tv a while back. Man, that's a well made animated movie.

just a few of my favs...

anything with John Wayne
Silverado - this is a fucking beast of a Western, haven't seen it? well, fuck you.
all the pretty horses - haven't seen this one mentioned...great flick.

Some of my favs are...

Once Upon A Time In The West

Unforgiven

Good, Bad, and The Ugly (the whole trilogy really)

True Grit (John Wayne version)

Magnificent 7 was pretty decent

Bang Bang you're dead (whatever the hell that was called, with Leonard Di Caprio, Gene Hackman, and that Gal as the lead). Movie was a set of duels, down to the last man.

and (a movie nobody has ever heard) ...

Evil Roy Slade (loved that as a kid, never saw it again. Hopefully the print of the movie still exists).

Honestly never understood what the big deal was about John Wayne.

Cringeworthy, hammy actor and not a IRL badass IMO.

McCabe and Mrs. Miller
one upon a time in the west
dead man
pat garret and billy the kid
