Forgot about What We Do in the Shadows and Predestination.

This was a really good year for movies.

It's your poll. I'd have tossed a bunch of stuff in favor of Theory of Everything, Predestination and even Fury...but it's not my poll.

If I were just doing my own favorites from the year, then I would throw out 22 Jump Street, Godzilla, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and The Lego Movie in favor of Predestination, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Wild and Sabotage.

For me it came down to Guardians of the Galaxy, Gone Girl and Nightcrawler. Went with GOTG maybe just because I'm a Batista fan and was surprised the meat head didn't completely suck.

strong year

1-john wick
2-GOTG
3-interstellar
4-nightcrawler
5-edge of tomorrow
6-ex-machina
7-22 jump street

Easily winter soldier. Guardians and John Wick right there too. Interstellar was a total piece of shit.

Whiplash nightcrawler and eot were all really good

I didn't see the fuss about a lot of the critically acclaimed films this year. Sort of surprised Fury, The Babadook and the Hobbit didn't make the list.

Fury was on there but got tossed for Godzilla, just because I thought a lot more people had probably seen Godzilla.

The Babadook was on there but got tossed for It Follows.

And the Hobbit movies kind of sucked, so yeah.

Interstellar. Why? C'mon, you know.

Matthew McConaughey's gerogeous body.

And I like sci-fi.

I'd guess it's pretty close but I could be wrong and Godzilla might have blown it out of the water at the box office. Of the three it's the only one I like though and am not mad that the Babadook got kicked I ended up rooting for the monster.

No Foxcatcher? I thought Whiplash was the best but Foxcatcher was my second favorite.

Damn, how'd I miss that? Weird.

Yeah, I probably would've included it on the poll. I guess let me update the list in the OP.

Between John Wick and Edge of Tomorrow. Voted John Wick. Both renewed my faith in action films

From what I've seen on the list, Whiplash is head and shoulders above the rest.

An underrated film from this year that I enjoyed a lot, but that seems like almost no one has seen:

Inherent Vice? I've heard it's terrible.

You gotta really go with the flow on the plot but Interstellar was the last movie to truly give me the feels and wreck me. The docking scene in the theatre was one of the most intense, gripping theatre experiences I've ever had. Also, out of the God knows how many movies he's scored this is Hans Zimmer's best work.

When he talks to his grown up children... that part wrecks me. Wish I saw it in theater.

I'll never forget the audible gasp from the entire theatre when his now adult son held up his infant grandson in the video messages. It's like that's when it sank in that he was missing their entire lives
