That crushing debt thread got me thinking. What is your career and Education level. Did college pay off in the long term for you,?, is your degree worth it? Are you able to pay off your student loans if you have them? Was your major the correct choice for your life?

I'm a pharmacist with a doctorate in pharmacy. I have a great job, luckily not in retail. The field is saturated, but luckily not as bad as physician assistant and nurse practitioner is about to be. I can pay my loans easily and have good money left over. I would do something different if I could go back, maybe more in computer science or finance, but I'm happy where I am.

Career level-alcoholic
Education- the institution of cheapest bars in the city

Was it worth it?- depends what happens in during the "workday"

No loans needed and yes i think its worth it, im about to get promoted to "3 liters of vodka and still not drunk alcoholic" also known as "immortal"

Web designer, Fine arts degree. I hate the industry. I'm a regular Holden Caulfield towards others in the industry.

I have a bachelor's in sociology, $0 in student debt. I worked a job overnight, went to school during the day and the company actually paid for it.

Im a corrections officer. Other than my house and wifes student loans, im living debt free right now (until the reality of my kids growing up kicks in)

I'm a college dropout
(but in Canada, education is WAYYYY cheaper)
So already paid for

Found a good office job anyway,
a multinational related to the construction business.

Been happy for the last 10 years here.

Job: tutor/ content creator for an education based company.
Education level: associates degree in science

Originally I wanted to major in English and focus on writing. My goal was to become a writer. That changed as o wanted to follow my passion of weight lifting/boxing and try to get a degree in kinesiology. The math and science classes killed me and I ended up taking a break when I just had enough credits for an associates degree. Weirdly if I had stuck with my original goal of getting a degree in English/linguistics or something related to writing I would be able to parlay that into my current career much easier.

maybe more in computer science
Yeah the endless depression that comes with that and a job in software development, isnt worth it. Grass is always greener on other side.

I'm in the ocean transportation industry with no college or high school papers.

Only debt is my house right now.

Education: BS - Electromechanical engingeering / Physics / Applied Mathematics
Yes, I think college did pay off for me.
I didn't really have much student loans, parents helped, and got $$ for ACT score and NCAA football.
Yes, correct major for me.

Just learned to read a few weeks ago.
Taco Bell lettuce shredder.

Ballin, yo.
Few years from now... my goal as assistant manager can happen, if there isn’t too much politics at the Taco Bell in Paducah.

PhD. Significant debt but was making good money in the field until I was laid off last Monday, lol

Only thing with my profession is people think we're broke, or living like officers throughout the country.

A degree in business administration, I work with accounting!

I belong to the top 90 percentile when it comes to income, which truth be told doesn’t mean much since Sweden’s progressive taxes and efforts to combat wage distribution are very successful.

The difference between the average income and the 90 percentile is only circa $2,200 per month.

Sorry to hear that. Now i feel bad lol
We already had jobs lined up. Sadly, it means I'm out of the field for a year but it's the same day lol. Wife is an academic too and she's killing it so it's fine
