I love when people make this argument, because its a shitty one. False Equivalency. Tim's infraction was a parking ticket compared to Yoel's not answering of the stool, which was like a felony. Should of been immediately DQd

STFU. What Romero did was the parking ticket. Both fighters were able to MUTUALLY gain from whatever extra time big John gave the cut man to wipe off the extra vasoline.

Kennedy committed the felony by grabbing the gloves, which prevented Romero from lifting his hands and defending, and then proceeding to attack Romero. Only Kennedy gained an advantage illegally.

If that fight had to end any other way it would be Romero win via DQ because he couldn't continue because the illegal actions taken by Kennedy had a direct impact on the damage that Romero took.

I've heard so many people say this since that fight, and it makes absolutely no fucking sense. So the foul that lead to literally the ONLY offense Kennedy had the entire fight is fine.


But cheating a few seconds extra to recover from the illegal blows is the worst thing ever? So silly. If the ref had done his job and noticed the foul he would have gotten up to 5 minutes to recover, not an extra 30 seconds.

They weren't illegal strikes...Those were legit punches to the face...you only get a 5 minute rest, if for a low blow, eye poke...things of that nature....And taking a few extra seconds to recover....rules state, if a fighter is not able to continue at the start of a round, the fight is over..that is why kennedy was going crazy about the fight being stopped...it should have been...

Just because hands getting trapped in the glove is rare doesn't mean it isn't a foul. When you look at the replay it's very clear his hand is trapped and that's why he can't move away from the punches.


It's extreme rules lawyering bullshit to argue those punches are completely legit, but getting like 20-30 seconds extra to recover from them isn't. There's a reason Kennedy was landing no significant offense the entirety of the fight both before and after that incident.


Kennedy has bitched and whined ever since about that extra time, but never once addressed the huge assist he got in landing those shots in the first place.



It's absolutely and completely absurd to argue those punches were legit. Sure you're not supposed to get extra time to recover, but you sure as hell aren't supposed to get your arm trapped by an equipment malfunction while you get bludgeoned either.
