Back in Strikefoce I remember watching him thinking wow, this one athletically gifted guy.

I always had high hopes for the guy and said if he sharpened his tools he could be a force.

Since then he has had ups and downs. He never truly evolved into what I thought he could of been.

With that being said I feel as if people are just looking past him. Which I do not understand.
He big, strong, athletic as can be, hits hard and has a decent skill set. Also he's still evolving from what I can tell, just not at the rate I assumed.

Anybody in the fight game has a chance, especially someone that has nasty KO power and abnormal athletic abilities.

I personally am happy he got this shot, I think it will be a better match then what people think.

Jones IMO would have problems with someone pushing him, coming at him. He has shown this vulnerability which is his only one IMHO.

So who knows what will happen. I will cheer for OSP since ive been a fan for awhile.

But my prediction is Jones 4th RD SUB
 
Jones will use this fight to send a message to Cormier. I agree with everything you said about OSP but I think the timing is bad for him and Jones is going to destroy him. But hey, it's MMA. None of us really know shit.
 
Jones also gotta be rusty coming off that long time off. This honestly was Cornier's best shot at the crown, too bad he got injured. So I do think it's risky to voerlook OSP. I can see a houston alexander or soko moment coming up

who knows, if recent history is any indication, underdog will at least outperform - if he does win, the narrative of strikeforce taking over will have another data point as well
 
It's easy to look past any of Jon Jones opponents because of his 9 world champion belts he has. Their is evidence to support Jon Jones will wreck this guy the first is he is not ranked # 6 that is just laughable. The highest ranked opponent he has beat is Shogun ranked at # 8 only because of his name. Shogun has seen more stars than the hubble telescope in the past few years. I mean how can you be ranked # 6 With 1 top 10 win and the guy was ranked # 8. The UFC thinks they fool people but they only fool casuals

Please Explain, I get why people say that. Hes a DemiGod on here. But what makes these two clashing styles an easy match for Jones? Im being real here. I just wanna discuss not argue.
 
All I know is OSP should have an eye surgeon ready.

I think you already answer your own question earlier in your post with "he never truly evolved...". I think the user is referring to Jones abilities as a true mixed martial artist, who is arguably the best wrestler in mma today. OSP has a chance, but thats about it.
 
OSP is pretty tall no? Should be a good fight if he can stop the TD.
 
Osp is lucky he didn't cross paths with shane carwin in his career.
He would not have this chance against jones if he did.

I initially had high hopes for OSP myself but he has kind of disappointed me and I too see that he hasn't evolved like expected. He's still a great fighter but he has nothing for Jones. But even so no one should look past the guy.... but honestly he has already peaked as a fighter and this is the best OSP that there will ever be.

Jones is better fighter in all departments , OSP will have trouble with the Jones reach .

Styles make fights however Jones beat Teixeira and Bader easily , OSP lost to both easily.

He has a chance , punchers chance . However Jones has been in with a lot of guys with KO power and he has beaten them all.
