Yard Sales?

You found a Dan Marino rookie card for a $1? I call BS

Apparently the kid lived at home into his 30's, guessing he finally left leaving a lot of his stuff, they kept it for awhile but after numerous times trying to get him to get his stuff out of their house, it was.......an old fuck this. All the lady said to me was.....he won't miss this stuff. The rest just guessing at.

She had a few boxes of football mixed with basketball cards fot 5 bucks a box. I looked them over came across Marino/Elway RC in the same box, I went no further, yep, bought that box for 5 bucks. I don't collect basketball.

Another great deal there was the complete TIME/LIFE Country Music tape collection by years starting in 1955-1975.

I've only been to two but they were massively overpriced. Everything was like 80% as expensive as if you just bought the stuff brand new.

Has your experience been different?
Estate sales for me is not really about finding great deals, somethings are overpriced and you can probably find some deals but thats missing the point of the appeal of estate sales. You get to walk around someone's house, all their stuff, its almost a vouyeristic experience. Years worth of a person's life. Usually its an older person's house and it can be like time traveling as they will have so much stuff you havent seen in years or maybe never have seen before

Retired insurance sales here, spent 33 years sitting at some strangers table talking the deal, so that aspect of it all, not much to me.

But.....I did use the surroundings to break the ice,

Me.....I'll be darn is that .....whatever?

Which would get a,...

Them....yep, sure is, I got that...........

Smiles all around.

I once saw a taxidermied massive raccoon climbing on a huge tree branch hanging proudly in a living room. It was $100 bucks and I wish it was in my garage right now.

I did kinda fuck up, it should be, you read a book, then buy another book. I'd......how much for al your books, give me a good deal.

Now there sits thousands of books and here I am running out of time.

Gotta be a song there somewhere.

Hell, I once had a lady open the door, guess what ran up my leg, a little raccoon.

Ever get burned with the Ebay thing?
Once. The guy said the card was all smashed up (it wasn't, I package my stuff good). So they had him send the card back to me smashed and gave him a refund. So I was left with a smashed card.

Other than that it's been all good, I just sometimes run into people who will low ball me, I assume because they'll turn around and resell it.
