But he did quit. There wasnt much left of the round. Pull guard and defend. he could have let it stol between rds BUT HE HAS SO LITTKE HEART that was too much to ask.

Demetrious Johnson hurt Henry Cejudo's leg with the same type of kick to the same nerve ending the King of Cringe came back for a split decision win.

I dislike both but it's a great example of talent, class, and heart.

Against Pedro Munhoz at the end of round 1 there were also interesting things to be seen in Sean's facial expressions when he went back to his corner. I think Pedro's leg kicks were affecting him more than people recognize and Sean had concern and doubt on his face.

Omally bugs me. His whole shtick is cringe. He is the ultimate can crusher. Fedor can crushed too but he has a ridiculous resume. Given his talent, there's no excuse for fighting Choi. Fedor still fought murders row of HW in pride. I wish he fought Reem and in ufc but I digress. Omally has fought nobody but Vera. Vera is a future champ IMHO. He's no joke. I hope he KOs Stirling. I hate TJ too but I want someone to rekt Stirling. Regardless, they all fought top guys. Omally hasn't minus Vera which exposed him. He's b level likely c level at best.

Dude is extremely talented and has so much potential but I get the feeling that he lacks heart and grit.

Hea got skill vs cans and unranked. I'd argue a. Unch of things go into champ status as well as skill. He's too fragile. He's like glass. Not talking his chin which isn't great. Its that hes so injury prone.

Omali has looked like a world beater but as soon as he fought the Chito Veras and the Pedro Munhoz of the division he looked way more hesitant.

He is fun to watch tho... I wanted to see him vs Sandhagen.

I would not say Munhoz was piecing him up... but he was landing legkicks for sure. Suga Shin was super tentative.

he's not got a glass elbow. It shows a lack of fight iq. He didn't pull or guard or try to tie up Vera. He defended with his chin, went out, and played possum.

O'Malley's clear advantages in these fight are his range, height, and striking accuracy. He is a very coordinated striker who works best at tip range, who throws great combinations from different angles at great speed, can throw from his back foot, and who uses a lot of feints and mixups extremely well. He has a big reach disadvantage, but he moves in and out very well, and tends to find his range and pick it up as the fight moves forward. He will probably move laterally a lot and frustrate O'Malley, who will have to try to find his range against a much more mobile target than ever before. While O'Malley generally has a speed advantage, against Yan this might not be the case. Propensity for injury might be a factor, but it's impossible to factor in such things. Neither fighter seems to opt for wrestling offensive, though both have good takedown and submission defense.

The thing with O'Malley is that he is in love with the idea of becoming a KO artist like Conor or Anderson, while he should grow into a more dynamic MMA fighter like DJ or GSP, who could change gears mid fight if something was not working. His BJJ is actually surprisingly good, but he rarely has alternative gameplans and always seems to prefer to strike. He needs to get his ego in check, and realize styling off with strikes won't always be available as he fights the higher level competition moving forward, if he wants to be consistent.

I think this is a difficult fight to call; far more than people are making it out to be, though obviously it is an enormous step up in competition for Sean. I'm going to go out on a limb and say O'Malley shocks the world.

Agreed. Yan had to wrestle and did little on top control. OMalley won the standup. Just check the facial damage. Very close but Omalley won.

If you analyze the fighters there is only one conclusion that Yann will dominate. If you are a Sean fan (which is obvious) sure go for the underdog but that has nothing to do with analyzing anything. O`malleys biggest weakness is his missing brain. He doesnt add new weapons and doesnt work on his weaknesses. He is longer in the UFC than Yann and basically the same fighter he was when entering the UFC.

it's a 3 rounder so his best hope is that Yan starts slow and that he's banked rounds 1-2 via volume; then hope he doesn't get finished in the 3rd.

My guess is Yan is going to want to make a statement and his sadistic side will shine and he'll "3 guys one hammer" o'malley.
