Y'all really have no clue who Eddie Alvarez is do you?

First time I watched him was when he got tapped by Aoki, but from there I watched previous fights and followed his career and I love watching that dude fight. Also love watching Conor fight. This will be a great one. Tough challenge for both guys.

I remember when he Eddie used to be champ for bodog fights. Damn he's old

It seems OP barely has any idea who Eddie Alvarez is. A guy that gets dropped in most of his fights dating back to DREAM (I don't think I can name a fighter off the top of my head with more knockdowns against him), fighting with very limited defense that blocks punches with his face. He has good recovery (but the punishment he took will take his toll eventually) and size going for him, but thinking he will have an easy time with McGregor is just laughable.
Did I once say it would be easy you goof?

There is a stereotype amongst Sherbros that Conor McGregor fans by large are relatively new to the sport and do not watch much else MMA wise other than him. This point is being proven by the minute, since the announcement of his fight with Eddie Alvarez.

Y'all really never seen Eddie have you? Perhaps 1 or 2 of his fights, right?

You may have seen him lose to Cerrone, his boring win over Pettis or even the dos Anjos TKO...

Michael Chandler? Shinya Aoki? Those names mean anything to you? ... Nah, I didn't think so.

Just for educational purposes, Eddie Alvarez has it fucking ALL!

- The guy has KO power in both hands.
- Crisp, technical boxing.
- Solid wrestling, with very good ability to control from the top position.
- Underrated and sneaky BJJ, takes the back very easily.
- Cardio for days, looks the same in rounds 4 and 5 as the first round.
- Heart for days. Let you knock him down or rock him, if his body lets him he'll keep coming.

People keep saying that Conor will defeat him with ease on the feet...

You do know Eddie's chin is probably just as good as Nate Diaz, you know Nate, the guy that Conor couldn't put away in almost 35 minutes of fighting?

Conor has a chance, he always does when it's standing, but stop talking about Eddie Alvarez like you even know who he is or have followed his career at all.

WAR ALVAREZ!

I've seen a decent amount of Eddies fights but you'll have to remind me, in which fight does he display 'crisp, technical boxing'?

I remember the real Goat dropping him with a jab as Eddie was rushing in, then finishing him with ground strikes. He's a much better fighter now but he has a tendency to get wild in there. That hasn't changed.

??
Yeah Eddie has a good/great chin, just like Diaz.

Eddie has even better heart.

Diaz was dropped 3 times by Conor, once by Benson and dropped and finished by Josh Thomson - both men have had their bad days.

Eddie has more heart than chin, but his chin is up there with the best of them also.

If Conor does win....guaranteed he drops the FW belt...then its Aldo vs Conor 2 @ 155.

Aldo has everything you just mentioned and more, look what happened there. If the left hand lands, Alvarez is hitting the floor. On the other hand, it could be a very long night for Conor if Alvarez can control him on the ground and stick those TD.

It really is a pick em fight imo.
That was a fluke 13 second KO.

They could fight each other 100 times and a 13 second KO would never happen again.

Aldo is also much smaller than Eddie and doesn't have any wrestling offense.

I did mention heart and not chin though.

Eddie is good no doubt but still he is well known to be a slow starter, really open to counter when attacking the body, open to uppercut and knee with all his level changes and his striking defense is not that good, he get dropped often...All these criteria plays in McGregor favour.

He can definitively Win (50/50 for me) but he is still the best match of most of LW contenders for Connor (I wouldn't give Connor much chances to get the belt against Cerrone/RDA/Kabib/Barbosa or even Fergusson)

I was hoping we were going to have a reasonable discussion about this. Obviously we aren't after reading "it was a fluke".
Have a good one buddy.

I think i heard of him... Wasn't he on that super real and cool MTV show with that happy-go-lucky, not at all deranged host where they beat up bullies?

He really smashed his bully as I recall.

Eddie is solid, I'm a fan, but he's no world-beater...I couldn't believe it when he got choked out by Michael Chandler in freaking Bellator...he should win, but I think it will be a good fight...
