I don't usually get digital content but xbox pulled me in with this sale plus a $10 gift card.

What are the best deals in your opinion?

I'm thinking about possibly getting something over $10 if it will be worth it.

Right now I'm look at the Alien Romulus movie for 9.99, so free. I haven't seen it yet but I'm unsure about it. Some people say it's boring and unoriginal and just recycles the old movies.

Robocop Rogue City looks like a fun time for 11.99

Also up there with movie to game fps adaptations is Terminator: Resistance. Looks cool and only 9.99

I've heard a lot about Resident Evil 4 but never tried it. It's on sale for 19.99. I'm not a huge resident evil guy. I did play and beat the 5th one that starts in Africa. It was ok.

I'm also looking at Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. I've always been a fan of Team Ninja and this looks like a well polished gem but it's a little pricey at 37.49.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is only $15. I tried it before and it didn't hook me but I know that's a quality game that is certainly going to give you your money's worth.

They have Doom Anthology reduced from 79.99 to 31.99. I already own all the games but it's still a cool collection. I'm irked that Resurrection of Evil wasn't included.

Also, I see a couple Aliens games that I never heard of. Is Aliens Dark Descent or Fireteam Elite any good? They're 15.99 and 20.99, respectively.

Holy crap! I just saw that they have a Contra collection with 10 classic Contra games for only 7.99. Cool! I'll probably get that even if I have to spend money on it

What about you guys? Anyone try any of these games? What are you interested in from the xbox sale? I might edit this and add more cool games from the sale that I find.

From that list I'd say RE4 or Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Then Contra

If you like 3rd person shooting/action RE4 is one of the best to ever do it.

Robocop is a little buggy but it's fun if you want to play a tank and blast people. It's good FPS for the older crowd or little kids.

We PC gamers will always prefer the Steam version over any other store when buying things, so buying anything that is on Game Pass seems like a waste. Console gamers might feel differently, but unless you know you want to own something permanently, I gotta think you would have the same sensibility.

Destiny 2: The Light & Darkness Collection for $37.49 and Destiny 2: The Final Shape & Season Pass for $29.99 (totaling $67.49) are both attractive sales. Unlike most games, those are both sitting on their true retail at both Steam and the Playstation stores right now ($150 + $100= $250 total). And those are the expansions which don't come with Game Pass. That basically buys you the entire content for a GAAS game that has been running since 2017; anything not vaulted from the first three years, and then everything from year 4+.

Death Stranding Director's Cut for $20.

DOOM Eternal Deluxe Edition for $17.49 is one of those rare games worth owning even if it is on Game Pass, but Game Pass only carries the base edition, so definitely worth getting.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was a fun, hilarious game. Easily worth $9.

Outer Wilds for $15 isn't a great sale, but that's one of the most acclaimed games of the past decade.

Prey is on Game Pass, but at $6, it's cheaper than any tier of the service for just one month even via the gray marketplace, and that game was a real surprise for me, a mindtwisting gem, so I'd recommend it.

Otherwise kind of a disappointing sale from Xbox when this had become their strength in recent years since Steam & Sony give zero fucks these days. They're just putting on sale a bunch of Game Pass content.

If you want something new-ish, Atomic Heart gold/premium edition is worth at that price.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying it on sale a few days ago on Steam.

The primium edition comes with all the DLC, and the new one about to come. Apparently the most recent one is really good.

The game is gorgeous and a lot of fun. I love the setting, reminds me of Cyberia with all the crazy automatons

I pirated it at launch to test it, but it had lots of issues, apparently it's running great now.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive edition for $4.

I loved that game til I got to that dang Ginso Tree level where you gotta race the water up the tree, it destroyed me like 700 and 50 times in a row til I rage quit
I cant go back either because my game save starts right at the beginning of the race so I cant even get any practice in and relearn the controls, its just start, boom, drownded, dead, every time in 5 seconds over and over again

Was such a great game though, definitely worth 4 bones

I have to admit, I hulk smashed a keyboard over the Ginso Tree.

I've browsed the more than 2000 games on sale(sheesh), and I'm deciding between "Rogue Legacy 2", or the "Bioshock Collection".

I'll probably go with RL2, since I've beaten the Bioshock games a bunch of times already. It's been a while though, so it's still in the running. Only thing that gives me pause with RL2, is that I think my skills might be diminishing. Played the original way back on the PS3 and crushed it. Booted it up a few months ago, and I got my ass kicked, but I figure I just wasn't in the zone and couldn't care to get where I was when I originally played it.

BioShock infinite is free on Prime Gaming.

@dentalplan Prime gaming is giving away Wolfenstein: New Blood and Minecraft Legends for xbox if you don't have them.

You know, I was actually mistaken about the price for Resident Evil 4. It's only 4.99. So far I picked up The Revenant for 4.99 (girl never saw it), Psychonauts for 1.99 (never played but heard good things for a long time), and I just got Ori for 3.99. I only had 3.02 credit left so I spent 97¢

The only game that I would be interested in, RoboCop, is free on PS+ this month so this ended being a pass for me.

It seems like xbox is really behind everyone else when it comes to exclusives and deals. What a shame.

I was looking into Resident Evil 4 and I see that the original is 4.99 while a new remake is 19.99. the remake is probably better but I am tempted to try this highly reviewed game for only 4.99. is it worth spending 15 dollars more for the new graphics?

Different strokes for different folks, but I just spent close to $15 for a sandwich just now.

It was a good sandwich, but now it is gone.

RE4 will entertain you for far longer than that sandwich entertained me.

The remake is quite a bit better, eh?

When I enjoy an 80€ game for 500h+, it’s literal pence on price per hour for the entertainment value. Unbeatable ROI. I played Nioh 2 for 1200h, which proved virtually free and had the time of my life. No sandwich is giving me that. I like your perspective.

They've actually been offering much steeper sales than Sony or Nintendo for years. That's why I was surprised this year's SSS is so lackluster. It appears that like Epic games they're pulling back on the strategy of just sinking money in an effort to attract gamers. It appears they've accepted they're going to lose the hardware race this cycle.

In terms of exclusives, people will say it's subjective, because they actually have a large volume of games that aren't available on Playstation/Switch, I believe the larger library, but objectively, it's pretty much impossible to argue it has kept pace with those platforms, anymore. You can see that if you documented all levels of full & console exclusives that show up on lists like the Acclaimed Games List, but that's a topic for a separate thread. However, ultimately, almost all of their top exclusives-- particularly those they haven't already put on other platforms-- are first party (ex. Halo, Forza, Flight Simulator, Starfield, Indiana Jones, etc), and those are all on Game Pass, so it just makes more sense to subscribe if you want to play them.

Yea that's how I justify buying certain things to myself... not just games.
