PWD WWF Brawl for All

Bart Gunn got punished for winning.

Billy Gunn in a shoot interview said he told the WWF management Bart would win because he seen him in bar fights.

Yeah. He walked into the creative meeting, and said "If you're making this a shoot, you can't let Bart in it, whatever you have planned, he's gonna fuck it up. Anyone he hits with that left hand is getting knocked out"

They all laughed at him.

I always felt like Butterbean was Bart's punishment for screwing up their plans with Dr. Death, probably Jim Ross' idea.

What dumb booking that was. You take a guy who just won a shoot tournament against some of the toughest guys in the territory, only to have him shoot fight a legit boxer abd get his ass handed to him. Way to make your whole territory look weak.

I'm rebooking the BFA:

Finley
Meng
Harley Race
David Schultz
Rick Rude
Shamrock
Severn
Brock
Andre

Alternates: Angle, Sheik, Bruno, Earthquake, Ron Simmons

Can I replace David Schultz with Mark Schultz? Mark in his only MMA fight dominated Gary Goodridge.

No Danny Hodge who many people inside and outside the wrestling industry consider to be the best legitimate fighter.

Sure, as long as you agree to tell Dave he's been erased from the tournament.

In freestyle wrestling Mark Schultz was an Olympic gold medalist, 2x World champion, and 3x NCAA champion. Schultz might have been able to beat any of those on the BFA list, outside of Andre. I don't know if just anyone would overcome Andre's size and weight

Funny you put Meng, and Finley at the top. The pair of them were backstage after a match, and they start arguing with each other, which then turned into them getting into each others faces, and then they started shoving and tussling with each other, which caused everyone backstage to freak out, because who the hell wants to get in between Meng, and Finley when they're fighting?

Turned out, it was a rib that they decided to pull on everyone.

Didn't he only wrestle at 180 lbs? Like Hodge, size would be a huge problem for him in a shoot.

The stupid part of this wasn’t mixing trained and I trained fighters or even the real injuries that were predictable but having a segment you promoted as ‘real’ against ‘fake’ segments. This shit should have been a warning about Russo going off the rails with his work shoot idiocy.

you're correct, the brawl for all was supposed to get Dr. Death Steve Williams over because of his tough guy persona, i don't know why they thought it was smart to book it as shoot fights though.

wasn't a big Samoan dude the other finalist in the world's strongest bouncer competition? i remember my Uncle telling me about it and that there were challenges that seemed like it was purposely made to benefit Mr. T.
You would think they would have booked it as fake shoot fights. Basically, just WWE special stip matches with boxing gloves and the weird brawl for all rules, but still with a predetermined winner and finishes.

No Matt Riddle? Especially if he goes back to his air punching, face blocking Sean Pierson UFC 124 Riddle.

In 1996, Mark Schultz was listed as 5'10" 203 lb and he soundly defeated Goodridge. Bear in mind Schultz was at a size disadvantage in the fight to Goodridge, who stood 6'3" 240 lb.

Schultz is one of MMA's greatest wonders

sucked, and exposed all of them not knowing foot work or how to throw a punch.

Steve Blackman wanted to kick people in the knees and fuck them up.

Bart was prepping to "box" and IMHO trying to win a point fight with Bean, trading punches, instead of just going in there to..."smesh".

Throwing all-out violent blows while Not letting Bean connect should have been Bart's strategy. He realized AFTER the bout he should have tried to pummel Bean, and not let Bean pummeled him. Hindsight is 20/20.
Yes, We all saw that Dark Side of the Ring episode where ButterBean said this exactly.
