WWE CruiserWeight Classic

Might as well make this the PBP thread.

Did everyone forget to watch, or is everyone else disappointed like I was?

Gonna be honest. I forgot about this thread and just posted about it in the other one.

There was tapings today. No spoilers but read the Ibushi/Alexander match was amazing and got a standing ovation midway through.

Watched 2 of the first matches on 4 jagers and fell asleep on the other matches.
From a 4 jager perspective. The first 2 matches, the guys that lost were the better wrestlers.
The first match, the masked spot monkey had good spots, but he did not feel like he was in a wrestling match. The other dude was selling and would have gave JR a boner because he was heeling it up.
Book of JR verse 1, A heel has to cheat to win.
The dude from China was raw as fuck and got carried. He has potential though, just needs to not telegraph his shit, but all that can be fixed with experience.

I was thinking they should have let that French guy win. He's got potential...you can't teach presence like that guy has.

It was a bit disappointing and predictable. The only match I wasn't sure of was Alexander vs The Frenchie. Not a fan of the purple and silver theme (not a huge deal), also do the turnbuckle pads look huge to anyone else?

Anyways I'll give it a few more chances, especially since Towaza is on this week.

First episode was fine. Nothing special. The skill level jumped up quite a bit after the first two matches. I like the format.. love seeing all the international talent.. I just hope they let these dudes go off a little bit. I'd like to see some big matches later in the tournament.

Watched 2nd round of matches.
Really liked the Perkins kid.
That lynx masked guy, his mask bugged me with the goofy teeth. His match was a spot fest and his opponent was telegraphing the moves, so bad it was distracting from the spot fest.
Good to see Tajiri. The dude he wrestled has a future.
Really liked the Japenese vs black dude match

Im going to watch this, but without the goofy luchador angles it might be a bit much to digest at first

I was really excited when they announced this but man, what a let down it's been two weeks in. Most of these guys suck out loud. TJ Perkins vs Da Mack has to be one of the most shit-tastic things I've seen in wrestling in a while. It was like watching two middle schoolers who've never even seen a real fight, let alone ever actually thrown a punch at someone try and do a gymnastics routine in the back yard. Just god awful...the kind of weak flippy dippy fake shit that gives the whole industry a bad name. The other matches weren't much better. These guys are friggin stereotypical indie guys who practice flips on a trampoline all day and can't sell a move to save their lives. So disappointing this is the direction they chose to go with this thing. The cruiserweight division will continue to be treated like a joke and will fade back into obscurity by Christmas, and we'll go back to pretending guys on Raw like Finn weigh 225.

This just seems like you're expecting something different and you complaing just to complain what were you really expecting And lol at you over exaggerating flppy shit hurting the industry

I was real excited about this when it was announced but I gotta admit this turned meh real fuckin quick
I need storylines and drama and characters I care about to enjoy pro rasslin and this has none of that, its being presented as a pure athletic competition and thats boring as shit
Oh well at least season 3 of Lucha Underground will be here soon

That very last match on the last episode was the best one. The screaming Japanese guy rocks.

The problem with most of these guys is there moves don't look painfull one bit. They need to ask AJ Styles what's up.
