Just checked into this thread. How many of you are seriously stocking up on water, food, and ammo?

It doesn’t take much effort to stock up a bit more food and drinks. Doesn’t mean you have to go full prepper, but being able to go a month without having to go to the store is a safe precaution.

The people who refuse to prepare for emergencies are the ones you have to worry about when things go south.

A month puts you at borderline prepper but I'm not against preppers, some people are outright offended by preppers. Do you have any idea how much water you use in a month alone, how many bottles you would need on hand just to handle your possible water needs?

Water purifying gear reduces your need for bottled water. A month of food is far from extreme. Rice, pasta, canned veggies and meats doesn't take much room.

Here in earthquake-prone California, any house owners with functional brains already have their emergency supplies good to go, which usually include food, drink, propane + stove, power generator + gasoline, solar-rechargeable outdoor lighting, plenty of wet wipes for personal hygiene, and the mean to protect their family.

I think even if the electricity, water, and gas are all shut off in a disaster, we can manage to live comfortably for at least two weeks on real food and beverages, and then uncomfortably for another two weeks on instant noodles and purified water, and then another awkward two weeks on all the Koi fish in our pond

Our roof-top solar panels are currently producing more electricity than we need, but we have metering with the power company like most solar users. May be I'll install a Tesla Powerwall later for energy storage, that way we don't even have to use the industrial-grade power generator that we currently have hooked into the house's powergrid (which we installed several years ago after some DUI fuckers ram into a utilities pole after New Year's Eve celebration and left our part of town without power for nearly two weeks. Lost like a thousand dollar worth of good food in the fridge/freezer when everything melted and spoiled ).

Anyway, not sure if that qualify as "prepper" where you guys live or not, but here in our ordinary Orange County middle-class neighborhood, covering your own asses is just called Common Sense, and those who are too stupid not to take care of their family are the ones who gets laughed at.

After all, the first ones who panic in an emergency are always those without a shred of common sense, who ends up with their pants around their ankles.

They would be better off saving these resources to disinfect their overpacked hospitals, quarantine facilities, and crematoriums where the bodies are piling up, as well as the cramped apartment buildings where people are currently locked in, where the virus is actually thriving.
