I keep seeing videos like this on twitter. Some lunatic spitting on things. Fruits, products, door handles, elevators and even on people. WTF!!!!


I think the chances of that happening are growing each day. The good thing is that infected people outside China aren't dying nearly as much so hopefully with better medical care this won't be as serious. Those cruises will be extremely important for the scientist community to figure things out.

It apparently usually takes about 3 weeks after the initial symptoms to get critically ill. I think it's reasonable to think that the developed world can handle a few dozen of those cases pretty well, but as the ICU beds are filled up, there will simply be no space to treat everybody. This is what happens in Wuhan right now. They have thousands of patients in need of intensive care to survive. As an example, a country like Sweden has 500 ICU beds for the entire country. And they are already full of other patients. A large hospital in the US has maybe 15-20 ICU beds.

My son attends college here in GA. I had some life straws, so I made a go-bag for him with some n95 masks too. My wife is Asian, so we've got rice from here to ya-ya.

We've been through a few typhoons when I was stationed on Okinawa so we're used to prepping. I've got a charcoal grill, propane stove, 2 storm radios, and 2 solar chargers. The freezers and pantry are good. I hope they get a handle on this soon.

Week 3: 2 dead, 62 cases

Week 4: 41 dead, 1287 cases.

Week 5: 362 dead, 17,200 cases

And the real numbers are much much higher than that.

And we are over 1,000 “confirmed” deaths right now
