Social WTF Elon ????????????????

PayPal was a success.
I'm not sure what role Musk actually played in Paypal. It looks like he was President of a company that did something else and merged with Paypal, and he was "replaced" by Thiel (fired possibly) before they even had an IPO.

No, X.com (elons company) and Confinity merged and then after that paypal was created with Musk as CEO as X.com was the larger entity

It looks like the company was named Paypal after Musk was replaced, and that the actual technology was developed at the company that was not Musk's.

ok, but x.com did not merge with paypal, it merged with coonfinity and the x.com ideas were transferred to paypals platform.

You can be contrarian and remain factual. Musk left a big impression on the company, even if he was not the main reason of its success.

LA already has a subway.

The issue with subways is the amount of time and money it currently costs to install them. He is working on making it 1/100 the cost and over 10 times the distance in the same time. But he wants to move traffic along using autonomous technology and robots overtime I believe in the future the cars will have a lot more elevators and emergency escapes routes.

He didnt start paypal or solar city.
Or Tesla. Lots of people think he started Tesla.
He was a early investers. He basically payed his way too be called a founder.

He has a way of manuvering himself into positions to be called a founder without really doing any of the heavy lifting. The guy markets himself well, can't take that away from him.

No way. Guys on that level don't put all their eggs in one basket. He got rich off paypall and then went off and did other things.
I don't know what else to tell y'all it most definitely is. You can pretend like he is some diversified hero, but it just ain't true.
He already owns 20% of the company in shares. At a market cap of 60 billion currently, that's 12 billion. In fact your claim that people so wealthy aren't like that is completely wrong: the richest people in the world are that way because the companies they own surged in stock price.

"In January, Tesla announced it would pay Musk nothingfor the next 10 years — no salary, bonus, or stock — until the company reaches a $100 billion market cap. If and when that happens, Musk could potentially overtake Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos as the richest person in the world."

He literally forced the entire auto industry to change to engage him when none of them had the will or desire to push electric cars, in any big or sustained way prior.

Even if Tesla failed no one cold deny that he changed the industry.

(that is not some type of weird hater anyway)
again a total fairtytale.
Ever heard of a Prius?
It's like saying Nick Woodman invented the handheld camera and without him we'd never have action cameras (founder of GoPro). Same shit: rich kid with rich parents, able to hype their idea to wealthy people who can afford it, then claim they had a unique vision.

A prius is a piece of shit boring ICE car with a small battery. lmao, don't compare it to a Tesla.

GM could have pushed EVs forward but they fucking crushed the EV1 and said fuck it.

Tesla is scaring the shit out of all legacy auto makers and forcing them to adopt EV decades earlier than they wanted to.

Not bad for a 15 year old company.

Unreal levels of idiocracy.
The guy is basically shilling for his cars again.
Most car companies spend tens of millions on advertisements. He spends tens of millions of ridiculous spectacle ideas to get the media talking about him for free. And instead of actually focusing on what his products are, people are just slightly too dumb to understand the underlying principles he is talking about, but applaud his confidence. Frankly it's almost Trumpesque; the guy is a master of playing the masses.

At the end of the day he sells luxury cars.
And he sold a shit-load of those 'flame-throwers' at $500 a pop . People bought them because they were branded by Tesla/Elon/Boring Company . A no name Chinese or American company with the same product would not sell soo many at that price.

Your post is 3 barely connected half-sentences.
The federal government pushed us toward EV's with a massive subsidy and the objective reality that fossil fuels are bad. Musk has done an excellent job convincing you he is at the forefront of these issues, when he is really the equivalent of Justin Bieber walking into the ring with Mayweather. Let me guess, Steve Jobs is the reason we have smartphones too?

He was fired as ceo while it was xcon. Paypal formed after that

You got that wrong.

X.Com, of which Elon was the Founder and largest shareholder and CEO merged with Confinity and the combined entity kept the name X.Com. After the merger Elon was still the largest shareholder and a FOunder.

That same entity later replaced Elon with Peter Thiel as CEO and changed its name to PayPal. IT was the same entity just with a name change. the Founding status of anyone does not change with a name change.

PayPal was a massive success.

These are the top guys who were part of that Paypal acquisition who took that money and win and spun it into new enterprises.

You need to research what a Prius is as its not an electric vehicle and none of the other Auto makers felt compelled to put out competing products to the Prius. The Prius was not driving market change.

Your ignorance is showing.

lmao, you are just a hater. Tesla as a company is helping to push EV adoption much more quickly. The legacy automakers are investing in batteries and electric cars more now because of competition from Tesla. Would Porshe be producing the Taycan if Tesla wasn't stealing their sales in the US?

And you compared a fucking Prius with an ICE to an all electric Tesla. That just seems retarded.

Sorry bud your ignorance is showing. I've got my money where my mouth is on this and have been both buying and shorting TSLA for months. The Prius was the archetype for what Musk is trying to achieve: getting people hyped about the perception they are saving the environment while paying above-market price for a metal box they drive around to get to and from the place they spend their day trying to make money to pay for said box.

Both care companies have Panasonic to thank for pushing battery tech to the point where they had something usable to base their manufacturing around.

Hell, Nio has been around for a fraction of the time and already has a much cheaper SUV available.

I wish those who founded YT wouldn't have sold it to fucking Google.

Xcon (elon) and confinity (not elon) focused on two diff services. The service that paypal provides today is comes from what confinity was doing before the merger.
He's not a founder of paypal, he's the founder of a company that merged with it and focused on the merged company's service.
It's somewhat subjective and i really dont care enough either way to continue arguing
