Why? If some candidates are better than others, shouldn't we expect bias (skew) if coverage is, as you claim, close to perfectly fair?

The processing would be similar. For the bias, at best (that is, if one weren't hopelessly biased oneself), we're talking about a vague sense of unfairness. Likewise, one might have the vague sense of there being a lot of "m"s in headlines.

When people browse political headlines during a campaign season, their minds focus in part on whether the news will benefit or harm the candidate in question. By contrast, they do not focus on the frequency of particular letters. So no, the mental processing is very different.

No left-wing poster has done that, at least since I've been here. That was done by two right-wing posters last month, though, and they were not banned. Regardless, without context, no, that's not nearly as prima facie scummy as repeatedly bringing up a guy's marriage, his ex-wife, and his kids and then posting pictures of him to boot.

I’d say Missouri was a Confederate state. They have a star represented on the Official Confederate flag. Kentucky and Maryland too. They didn’t secede, but Missouri was a pro Confederate state.
