PWD Wrestlemania Night 1: Folks, It Don't Get No Bigger Than This

Just finished it. I love WWE on Netflix, so easy to skip through things, like New Day/fat guys.

I can't believe they had Jay submit Gunther. That was among the worst of outcomes they could have come up with. I knew Jay was going to win, but they didn't have to hurt Gunther's character like that.

Glad Tiffy won. It was sloppy put they were both wrestling stiff, props for that at least. Did Tiffy lose a tooth? Her chops were messed up at the end.

I enjoyed Jade/Naomi. I was waiting for Naomi to pop dem titties out, we were so close. I love that big booty of hers too, glad to see her show more of the goods. Jade is still green but what a specimen. It would have been better as a tables match, or something more gritty, considering what set it up.

It's nice to see El Grande get the push poor Chad never did, he's too talented. Fenix is really fun to watch too.

LA Knight and Fatu delivered. It felt like a big deal and both guys looked like a million bucks.

Triple threat was awesome, and without outside interference, it had the only logical finish. It should have had bigger stakes, but it says a lot of about all three guys when they made it feel so grand.

Gunther vs Jey was kind of underwhelming. “First match” Jey Uso was already gassed like usual before he even got into the ring, and both guys looked a little indecisive for just having wrestled recently. Jey’s spears still are crap, and even Gunther’s power bombs looked bad. I kind of liked the idea of Jey using Gunther’s own moves, but I didn’t really get the quick tap out at the end.

Everyone knew Jey was winning, but it didn’t really hit like it should’ve. Sami vs Gunther was may more satisfying last year, granted Zayn is a much better wrestler with better chemistry with Gunther. Hopefully the yeeters are happy now, but I’m hoping Jey doesn’t hold the belt too long.

Had a lot of fun with the family.

Main event was great. Uso and Tiffy matches were good and had the crowd into it but the sections couldn’t seem to align. This always happens at the stadium manias I’ve been to. Like the whole crowd was hot for the uso match but you had diffferent sections chanting at different times and the crowd couldn’t get together in unison.

Allegiant is a terrible stadium, poor management all around and huge lines for everything. I’ve been to several stadium manias (23, 26, 31, 39) so I’ve experienced the huge crowded wrestling shows. This was the worse in terms of getting to my seat, using bathroom, and buying food.

We are looking forward to night 2.

OK, long freaking day. Walk to the stadium was a bitch, but not nearly as bad as the walk back. 60,000 people trying to go up and escalator that was broke down so we could cross the fucking street. Literally took over half an hour lol.

Jey and Gunther was good, not great, but him winning with a choke popped the crowd (even if you couldn't tell). There were some real loud sections, and then some that were lame.
Missed the entire tag match getting food. Seems I didn't miss much, but right team won.
Jade and Naomi wasn't good imo. Did the best they could but this shouldn't have been a Mania match. Crowd was dead.
Fenix vs Americano was good for the short time and notice they got to put it together. I want more.
Knight and Fatu killed it. Would have like Knight to win, but Jacob holding the belt is good to me.
Charlotte and Tiff didn't tell at all, and Charlotte seemed to be going in slow motion and sandbagging Tiff. Right woman won. Charlotte can now fuck off and keep fucking off until she reaches Fuckoffville, and then keep fucking off.
Main event was money. We all kept biting on the false finishes, and even with knowing Paul was going to turn on Punk and Roman, it was really well done.

Solid B due to the triple threat, US title, and the atmosphere of Jey winning.

Got a couple Mania T-shirts as souvenirs.

I honestly didn't think about the escalator situation.

If you've never been there, Vegas is weird. Because 90% of the people walking around are drunk, the sidewalks are really separated from the road. You don't just cross the streets like any other major city. You go up escalators and cross over bridges.

I can't imagine that 60,000 people had to use the same one at the same time

The matches that entertained me were Fatu vs Knight, Americano grande vs rey mysterio's kid, and the main event, other than that it wasn't great for me. I'd give it like a 5/10 because of those three matches, otherwise it was like a 2 or 3

Thinking back on it Naomi/Jade did what they could but that was a Smackdown match through and through. People giving Night 1 too much crap. There's no one that looked at the Night 1 line up and thought that was a banger for the first night. Everyone knew Night 1 needed help. If you think about it the real downer of Night 1 was Charlotte/Tiffany. All the other matches did what they should have done for better or worse but Charlotte/Tiffany was terrible. I don't think it's a stretch to say that Tiffany came out the biggest loser of Night 1.

My unsolicited thoughts on Night One:

Jey vs Gunther- Really didn't like Jey choking out Gunther and the quick tap out. Didn't do anything for yeet uce. Made Gunther look kinda ass. Especially after the belt shot.

New Day vs War Raiders- Ivar was the star of the match. Watching with all wrestling fans and we almost missed the screwy finish. Pretty forgettable.

Jade Cargill vs Naomi- Universally, I think everyone at my house is liking new Naomi more than that weather report shit they tried to do. Same ol' Jade. She's Sid Vicious not Rick Rude, damnit! Lay the matches out accordingly.

LA Knight vs Jacob Fatu- Really good match. I've heard people talk about how LA Knight doesn't do more than he has to but he does what he has to when he has to. They did great and Jacob will be a beast and maybe top of the card next year.

Rey Fenix vs El Grande Americano- Loved the entrance. I really thought that Fenix was going over and Americano unmasked but I guess they didn't want to deviate from the original finish. Worked great together all the way through.

Tiffany Stratton vs Charlotte Flair- Had the potential to steal the show or be an all-time flop. I think they did it well. They got looser towards the end and I don't know if that was fatigue or feigned fatigue. Charlotte is out of her prime now but still top level. Right winner as Tiffy earned her position in that match.

Seth vs Roman vs Punk- Holy shit are all these guys good. None of them are kids anymore and they still brought it. Seth and Roman are like a ancient fable at this point. One of the greatest rivalries of all time. The Heyman bit was screwy but Heyman screws people so it's good.

My favorite match was Chads banger with Fenix, but again Tiffy, specifically her body and face and my gymnast fantasies, were the highlight. I didn’t really like the main event, and I think I might take a short break from “the business” after night 2 because I’ve grown exhausted it appears, need to recharge the battery.
