PWD WRESTLEMANIA 39 NIGHT 2

This also might be a test by WWE to see if Cody can stay hot. If Cody can't stay hot after this, why the fuck should he be the guy to beat Roman?

They basically had 2 months of sample size of Cody getting cheered and big merch sales. When has WWE ever pulled the trigger on someone that quick? Look at guys like Danielson, he was red hot for a year and they took the strap away from him immediately after he beat John Cena at Summerslam and buried him as the "B+ player" for several months, Danielson stayed hot, so they pulled the trigger on him on WrestleMania.

WWE ain't gonna pull the trigger on Cody after 2 months lol

Cody has been in and out of the WWE for well over a decade. To say that he has only been built up for 2 months is inaccurate.

It would like the Rock coming back for a few months and treating him like he has only been in the WWE for 3 months … it’s completely dismissive of his whole career.

Cody was gone for 6 years , he wasn't "in and out" of WWE for the last decade, and the last time he was in WWE he had spent the last 3 years as Stardust lol

Should Cody have won last night because he was Intercontinental Champion in 2012? <Lmaoo>

I was. And again I understand if it’s not the finish you wanted but I’m specifically responding to you saying it’s lazy writing when I would counter that it was very well booked and good writing. When Sami and ko came out I think everyone thought it was over yet. And it was the spike, which is solo finisher, that was the final blow.

Well, technically the final blow was the super spear. I do 100% agree with what you're saying though.

<{dayum}>

In context, I guess the pause wasn't a bad idea after all.

So I rewatched the women from night one and yeah I was just being tired and cranky. That was a great match lol

Night 2 was definitely a step down from night 1. The intercontinental match was brilliant, but everything else I wasn't really into.

Most of you guys seemed to enjoy it though, so glad you all had a good time!

Just worried it'll be a Natio situation lol

Naito is proof why Cody fans shouldn't be so doom and gloom and Cody losing isn't the end of the world.

Naito lost to Okada at the Tokyo Dome, stayed red hot for 2 years, beat Okada at the Tokyo Dome 2 years later.

I doubt they take 2 years to pull the trigger on Cody lol, but if Naito can come back from not getting his moment, to still eventually get it, Cody will be fine.

Summerslam is also 4 months away and is also gonna be a huge stadium show with another entire weekend of wrestling companies from all over coming to town. Cody winning at Summerslam might be better anyway cause he has 4 months to build actual heat with Roman and WWE has 4 months to see if people actually care enough for Cody to beat Roman.

When Naito won it didn't feel as big as it should have. Maybe that's just me.

Yeah, I agree though. They have four months to build this back and it could definitely benefit from it. I think too many people are assuming that this is it for Cody, which is just jumping to conclusions imo. I get not being satisfied with the booking within the match, but to assume Cody is done in WWE now is pretty silly.

The wait from the Royal Rumble to Wrestlemania is long enough …. To add another 52 weeks to that … fucking boring!

Do we have to wait until Cody Rhodes’s son grows up into an adult? And, then at the ripe age of 40, Jake Rhodes finally becomes the champion? … let’s not give Vince any ideas!

Sunmerslam?

Sunmerslam?

He has had the belt for almost over a 1,000 days … he just defended his belt against the biggest challenger he has had who had a huge amount of momentum behind him at Wrestlemania

Losing the belt at fucking Summerslam would be an anti-climax … a whimper …

Roman will now have to lose the belt to someone bigger than Cody and at a venue as big as, maybe bigger than Wrestlemania 39 … lol … Realistically, he won’t lose the belt until Wrestlemania 40 at the earliest …

Cody definitely needs to get some revenge on Solo. I could see him doing that program for a bit to raise him up the card some. Then I’d have Cody win MITB and cash in for a rematch at Summerslam

I'd rather see LA Knight win MITB

YEAH!

Cody doesn't need the briefcase. I feel he'd want to win the title the right way. Although, he could always win and say he's cashing in at MITB instead of just running down when Roman is beaten down.
