WR Posters You Don't Agree With but Respect...

Haha I remember that. Didn't really expect it from him.

Yeah, caught me by surprise. I thought the DurableDude account was suspicious, but didn't link it to him. However, when you look through the posts of that account it becomes incredibly transparent. A bunch of vaguely pro-Brexit posts, then a sudden 180, and of course finally the out-of-nowhere accusation of racism.

Right now I'm having a serious issue with @Rod1 in a different thread, and am thinking of puting him on ignore.

That's funny because I still mix you two up sometimes. You guys should have an account bet about something.

No account bets, but I really should do something about my handle on here. It really doesn't work when talking about people in fist name kind of convos. Kind of awkward.

Not sure if you're aware, but WhitebeltXL was called out by Ruprecht for using a sock puppet to accuse himself of racism, and essentially admitted it recently. So you may want to withhold your respect.

What lol

You mean a gimmick account to accuse himself ? Lol

Seriously though, most of the regulars have something of value to add to their arguments, and I can respect that. Agree or disagree. Willful ignorance, deliberately misrepresenting counter arguments, non charitable posting that leads to dead ends, and trolling for the sake of derailing threads? Yeah, I have no time for people who regularly participate in those practices.

I have him on ignore. I feel that some people simply can't get along, and that's fine. Whether it's some ideological difference combined with clashing personalities, I don't know, but I don't see the use in communicating with people when it's unfruitful and not enjoyable. I'm not Jerry Seinfeld, not everyone has to like me.

The only setback to having people on ignore is that some threads get incoherent. You have people who are seemingly talking to no one or make seemingly random comments out of the blue. Other than that, my ignoring posters who I couldn't get along with has improved my browsing substantially. It's definitely a gateway drug, though.

@ripskater is a decent enough fellow, but he believes Sandy Hook was a hoax, so I'm not sure I can say I "respect" him. There is a line over which stupidity aictually becomes evil, and he's on the wrong side of that line sometimes.

<6>

Yikes, I didn't know that. Well I guess I still respect him for remaining civil and avoiding personal attacks, which is more than I can say for myself. But yeah, I can't respect calling Sandy Hook a hoax that is just so incredibly mean-spirited towards the victims.

I have respect for every poster, especially those that frequent the war room. Takes some character and backbone to stay in this sub forum.

Personally I would go one step further and say I love you guys. Though some may find this funny and while others will understand where I'm coming from. I do have compassion for the whole lot of us.

Do I agree with all, lol no. But that's partially, if not majoritly why I post / stay in the war room.

Wish I could say I was always cool hand Luke in every thread, but we al know that ain't true. And even if I get upset and reply in kind, I don't hold any animosity outside of that moment and move on.

This is the best forum on the whole site imo.

The usuals- Pan, Mick, Zank. Usually disagree with JudoThrows but he's a good poster. Others too but they stick out. Like Seagold said, it's just not possible to respect anybody who is an apologist/fan of Trump, which excludes close to half the regulars.

That friend made a great thread on rape culture an feminism in the west. At least that's how I remember it. I wonder what that friend is up to now?

Knowing her, off being a real bitch to someone, somewhere...

lol, TS created a thread for posters to pay respect despite ideological differences, now they're discussing if poster X, who's not even participating in this thread, is delusional or dishonest and find a way to spout their prefered circlejerk about to their own political ideology

glad that I named hack van savage as a negative example, one page later he does his best to confirm that

Rod's a good guy, though. Definitely has a dickish side and he's not always right, but a good guy. Worth reading.

I mostly block people who just never contribute anything except team-building shit or one-liners (unless they're funny). As much as possible, I try to make my WR a place where every post is at least a little long and worth reading.

Who is poster X? Or do you just mean in general?

Yeah, it's a tough one to get by.

On the one hand, I want to accept everyone as they are, but on the other hand, there are some things that are just unacceptable.
