WR Posters You Don't Agree With but Respect...

There are quite a few and some I respect in certain ways and disrespect in certain ways and there is almost no-one I agree with on everything. For ones I generally disagree with but respect either for their character, their ability, their tenacity, their audacity, or their ability to pull off a performance piece, I’d say…

Madmick, TheGreatA, RexKwonDo, Overpressure, Caveat, Jack V Savage, Palis, Panamacian, McVeteran81, Pwent, Ripskater, JDragon, Thurisaz.

I'm sure I'm missing a few, but... My respect for these posters takes several forms. Some I respect for their character, some I respect for their capability, and there is the odd one I respect for both. I find some of these people odious, though not most. I find my views at odds with all of them to some degree or another, whether I find occasion to argue with them.

For many of you, I respect you AND I agree with you – generally – so you don’t show up under the terms of the thread. If you’re not on here, don’t take it personally. Except Falsedawn. You suck. “Obsession noted, dick in mouth, ass only no babies, etc etc etc.”

This thread reminds me… I owe Dontsnitch a message back one of these days… Too caught up in getting ready for term, renovations, and an upcoming Europe trip to keep up on the small stuff.

Sometimes I have to step back and leave Rip alone as its easy to get caught up and carried away by the negativity here. Especially since I'm at work and post fast and furious when I'm in a crappy mood. It gets a little unfair to always go after him day after day and I have to remind myself of that.

Understood. The @ripskater phenonemon on this thread kind of gives me hope for the country in kind of a humorous, paradoxical way.

He gets so much abuse on here but he is obviously still one of the more well liked folks on the forum. If only more people in the real world could call each other batshit crazy idiots and then have a beer.

I generally respect everyone outside of a few worthless posters but to name a few specific good ones: Madmick (who I think leans right on at least some topics), Panamaican (who I find myself agreeing with a ton these days), OldShadow, Enthiest, Judo (brutally honest) and ripskater (who really grew on me over time). I'm positive I'm missing some and even like posters but don't have their political views correctly pegged.

Even guys that I generally clash with with some level of hostility can make good posts on given subjects.

Same. As an anarchist at heart i actually agree with his critiques more often than not however I question the applicability of his views.

Meh, my opinion is that he is, bar none, the most sexist poster in the forum to me. Not fun sexist like many here, but "You're a dickholster to me" sexist. I find the irony of a guy who is sensitive about race being that guy deliciously amusing. I've seen you voice this sentiment before which I thought was odd but it is what it is. Obviously your Falsedawn experience is different than mine.

@ripskater A brother in the Lord, that I respect. I have never seen him stoop to name-calling or insults (veiled or otherwise). He's a straight shooter and believes in America. We don't see eye to eye on most issues, but we can always talk to each other as gentlemen.

@Palis When it comes to politics, we couldn't be any more opposed! BUT he will defend his position with honor and passion. We go tooth and nail most time, but we can always communicate without it devolving into a shouting/insult contest.

@dontsnitch Another brother in the Lord that I respect. Not only for his belief, but for his point of view. We has human beings MUST be able to see thing from opposing viewpoints. That in itself grants us a broader vision. By conversing with him (and many, many, others here), I'm able to do that and that makes ME a better man. We may not agree, but we can always communicate.

I am not going to tag people by names but the ones I tend to respect are ones I've liked their post even though I disagree with their position. Typically these are posters who can stop shilling for a second and see the other view point or who don't easily get offended and degrade a conversation into name calling.

I wonder if the worst offenders in the WR (those who troll, are dishonest, disrespectful, etc.) will have a response to this. One shit poster dropped by with a ridiculous response (unsurprising) how he only respects people who agree with him.

I'd bet the worst posters can't even acknowledge that someone can respectfully disagree with them.

@oldshadow He's obviously very smart and had a lot of life experience, and is by no means a cookie cutter conservative. Also the one I turn to for nucular questions.

@panamaican Utterly reasonable and able to articulate well. We end up agreeing often on social and economic issues, but he is still a filthy Trump voter, so I'm counting it.

@dontsnitch We've had some disagreements, but they're always civil, and I think we both try to see how we're reaching the places we are on the issue.

@JudoThrowFiasco He knows when his side is being idiotic, which counts for a lot, and he is a hockey fan, so we encounter each other out of this hellhole.

I respect a lot of people here actually, I'm sure we'd get along if we met, but the internet+politics+anonymity make people crazy.
