WR Posters You Don't Agree With but Respect...

Nice to know I can fly under the radar . . .

Some of y'all are hopeless . . . and the rest will learn. I'm sure there aren't too many I wouldn't hang out with . . . at least for a little bit.

Discussing things from different angles is how we learn . . . right?

I always thought you were alright, I just don't like it when people change their avatars, it throws me off.

Damn! @ehtheist and @Falsedawn... This thread was supposed to be about respect.

This is why we can't have nice things.

Kinda reminds me of how the "WR Appreciation Thread" went down in flame two years ago.

About 3 pages of genuine heartfelt appreciation for the contributors who made this place bearable, follows by 30 pages of the usual apes flinging feces at one another.

I tend to lose respect for anyone who resorts to conspiracy theories or flat out tribalism. There are very few out there who are like that. With that being said, I may not agree with him too often, but JudoThrowFiasco is one of the most objective people on this board. That is a very rare trait.

Always happens in these social chat threads. Always. From kumbaya to fu in a split second.

So if I feel the same way about, say, Overpressure, am I tribalist for his position too? ;)

OP is a cool guy. DS has a history of highly dishonest arguments and of making character attacks in response to losing arguments. The fact that you think he's "upstanding" is solely related to him being in your tribe, isn't it?

I'd like to make a thread dedicated to the people I don't agree with, but whose opinion I respect.

@Caveat, is the one poster I consider to be a great philosophical mind who I disagree with on many topics. If I had to pick one WR representative to argue our merit to an alien invasion, it would be him. He's objective and a genuinely great thinker.

@Gandhi, is a so-called leftists member who I admire. He's intellectually honest, and despite having views I disagree with, is extremely witty and doesn't give much ammunition to the right-wingers, despite making them very uncomfortable. One of the best on this forum.

@Leagon, despite not having many conversations with him, and disagreeing with him on a fundamental level, he has come across as intellectually honest and willing to concede points. I admire his intelligence and make a point to read his posts carefully. Another great poster.

@Strychnine, is a brother in the Lord who I disagree with on many issues, but who is a stand-up gentleman and a proud veteran, and whose posts I take the time to read just because of how he carries himself. One of the few gentlemen on this site. My brother, you have influenced me.

@Voodoo_Child906 and @meauneau, two atheists who I respectfully disagree with, but who have the integrity to argue in good faith. Both are great sparring partners in any religious and philosophical debate.

@Madmick, is an absolute madman who despite hating Trump, has the vocabulary and wit that would make Hannibal Lecter blush. Reading his posts makes me sad to realize I'm such a rube, and also makes me wonder if he has secretly won a pulitzer.

Lastly, @Kafir-kun, despite our continuous battles, and the fact that I almost put you on ignore a few hours ago, I think you're alright. Of all the left-leaning posters on this site who I secretly want to fist-fight, you're my first draft. Seriously, though, you're alright, even though I may banish you very soon.

This thread may be a bust, but why don't you throw out a shout-out to the posters you disagree with but admire...

Edit: I'll throw in @HomerThompson just because he's funny and he has shown an ability to concede points. I disagree with him, but he's alright in my books.

@Rod1 and @Ruprecht because their opinion is based on their own thoughts, which might differ from mine, but not on a lack thereof plus they simply explain it instead of *autistic screeching* and passive aggressiveness.
@HomerThompson because you can have normal conversations and he's not that closed-minded.

obv @Kafir-kun but not sure how much we disagree on different topics

there are some posters I read because of their expertise when it comes to specific topics or disciplines like @Quipling but I don't know/care what they post otherwise and I forgot most of their names right now

This thread is absolutely gay btw, start one "WR posters you'd like to punch in the face" instead or " 10 WR posters you just can't respect at all?!?!". I'm nominating Jack v Slughorn

And that's why you'll never make my list. Because how in the world could an educated man dislike Trump, right?! His hands are so bigly!!! Fucking LOL....

1. Any republican who will admit Trump completely fucking sucks. Or as I call them now "WereMericorns", because they're as rare here as Werefolf Mermaid Unicorns and I'm never typing that out again.

2. Jacky V, I would hate his party loyalty if he didn't actually argue it coherently. But he does, Fair play you commie liberal.

3. Kafir I disagree with on some foreign issues but the man posts properly. Respect

The rest of you can eat shit and live. ;)

As for me, I could mention plenty.

@dontsnitch is cool with me.

@Bald1 is a pretty agreeable fellow, very easy to discuss things with and relatively cautious and humble in his posting.

@panamaican and I disagree on some things but I usually find his reasoning consistent and interesting.

I don't agree with right wing libertarians but I hespect @lecter and @Greoric who are at least consistent in their views and intelligent enough to make interesting insights from their perspective.

@Denter has some uniquely interesting views, one of the smarter right wing posters on this forum IMO.

@KONE and I disagree on some things but he seems like a cool guy and for reasons unrelated to the political discussions here he's cool with me. I remember when I first saw him posting I noticed he was an asshole but I liked his style. Then I remember someone else said he was confirmed to be a sock puppet of @Rex Kwon Do and I figured that must be why I like his posting lol. I don't think its true but I never really did figure out for sure what happened with that.

Definitely more I'm forgetting now.

gay!

You seem to be under the impression that I'm "shielding" myself from mean comments. I'm not. It's pretty much just people who don't say anything on topic.
I see what you mean. There are many posters who are so terrible that I would consider putting on ignore if they didn't get banned so quickly. Nothing they post really contributes, its all predictable trash.

Cool beans. You get what you give with me. Maybe I'm agreeable because you make valid points? Even if we don't always come to the same conclusion I always get something out of our chats.

My ignore list is empty but that's due to poorly designed forum software.

It's not the "Peace Room", you know.

If we're being totally honest, that thread was after this one, where I found your arguments so vapid and incongruent that I wrote you off entirely. I had previously thought of you as a well spoken crazy person, but after you came at me with the absolute worst and disingenuous defense of outright racism, I was pretty much done with you.

But hey, if you don't want to have this discussion, I guess i'm fine with that. For someone who accuses me of wasting time, you sure wasted a lot of time here. For someone who accused me of "not reading the points and running from the thread", this sure looks a lot like you not reading the points and finding an excuse to leave the thread. For someone who accuses me of avoiding the question, you sure are avoiding the question. Projection? Or did you just figure out when you searched my history how I outright defend abortion rights or that my criticisms toward women all stem from a legitimate reason (however valid) as opposed to irrational hatred? Did you figure out my love for joshi puroresu and how I outright idolize many female pro wrestlers for their skill? Did you figure out that I (to this day) still consider Hillary Clinton one of the most qualified presidential candidates we've ever had? Or how I extol the virtuosity of First Wave Feminists? Sounds like your sexist argument falls apart when you start moving into the realm of having to provide proof.

But hey, that's you, or at least the you I expected. Trash as usual. There will never be a day in your life where you are not beneath me, and I don't need to invoke my manhood to see that.

Hey man, I can't deny her hustle. I disagree with her on a number of fronts, but I never questioned her competency. She's definitely on that short list.
She's a good politician on paper, maybe the kind of thing you'd design in a character creator and come out with a great RPG character. But I think she's really overrated simply because of her on paper credentials. Its not just that I disagree with her on, say, Libya. Its that her decision making there has been shown by reality to have been bad as evidenced by the result. And she's just an untrustworthy, elitist, and duplicitous person and unfortunately some people are too willing to excuse those traits something that's just an inherent part of the package when it comes to politicians. She doesn't hold a candle to many former presidents.

I think that's a fair criticism. She was definitely stacked on paper, but the traits you mentioned are definitely valid as well.

The only reason why I downplay those now is because we elected a dude who has those traits on steroids, if it was THAT big of a deal, John Kasich would be president right now lol.
