It's legitimately impressive how universally inept Democrats are.

https://www.wbrc.com/2021/06/08/vid...eswj94Wq9-w4rgmqdKZqiAwmHHCCcISq2cclmOJp0HDEA

You have coal miners in Alabama - the preeminent symbol of white working class in the reddest of red Republican strongholds - striking for a new contract. And I haven't seen a fucking single Democrat, federal or state, so much as mention it. If you search "coal miner strike" or "coal miners Alabama," you'll get dozens of articles. Put "Democrat" into that set of search terms and you'll get exactly zero.

It's coal mining. Surely it would be dishonest of them to highlight it or offer support just because it's a labour dispute?
Are the coal miners unionised?

Hate to go this route but a case of people not sticking their neck out if they don't think there is a politcal point for them to win by doing so.

I think it's more a matter of priorities. If Democrats gained power in Alabama, I am positive they would enact pro-union policies. But they don't see it as a platform having a lot of thrust in terms of campaigning.

Yes, this is a coal miner union. And it wouldn't be dishonest at all. Historically, the Democrats have been both pro-labor and pro-environment. You can support the labor interests of coal miners without feeling the need to throw out needless government checks to mining management under the guise of expanding an industry that will never be expanded.

Aren't they running on a policy of wanting to shut down coal mining though? Hard to claim to care about the environment and not be at this point.

No. That basically traces to a reckless campaign remark by Hillary Clinton in 2016 for which she paid dearly.

I disagree. You can let the market do its own thing, and that's been the strategy of the Party for a while.

Banning coal mining has never been discussed as a realistic policy. In fact, even though coal miner leadership openly said they'd accept transitioning into new energy professions, Biden has still signaled that he plans to reopen mines.

Just saw in the front page that Hunter Biden used the n word in a text message.

You know the more I learn about this guy the less I care for him.

His father must be a real saint to have not given up on him.

This is going to sound really bad but... the other son passing away like he did made it so Biden had no choice but to stand by the fuck up one more.

If Beau was still alive I really wonder how much Joe would be around Hunter.

That's disappointing.

Coal is the single biggest contributor to climate change. If you're talking about tackling Climate Change and actively transitioning from coal isn't part of your plan, it's worthless. Giving Coal Unions representation and power in a party is of course going to prevent the necessary measures. The rate of market decline isn't fast enough to be a solution. It only fell 7% in the last 2 years, and a lot of that was driven by the pandemic, with an expected 2.6% increase this year.
I'm hoping China's ban on importing Australia's coal will provide the necessary impetus for change here, because the power of our mining industry holds the Liberal party in it's sway, and the power of the CFMEU has similarly captured Labor.

Due the Electoral College I don't think you can win the Presidency whole being hardcore anti fossil fuel. I highly doubt you can win PA and the Dems need PA to win the election. It's also one of the few Senate seats the Dems can pick up.

The Dems need more control to keep subsidizing green tech and increase those subsidies. That's the battle to get us to a point where we can be more aggressive.

You’d think the federal weapons felony would have lost him the most support.

or that someone somewhere in America, a child is growing up poor with a single mom stripper for a mom, and a grandfather who is the president of the United states of America.

or the whole thing where hunters mom(the First Lady) won’t let Hunter around his niece Bc she suspects Hunter has had a sexual relationship with her.

or the whole thing with hating his own brother so much he starts banging his wife after he dies and then (supposedly) bringing your brothers daughter as well.

The entire time being an out of control meth and crack junkie.

but saying the N word? That’s the red line

There's so much hilariously wrong and deranged about this post obviously but my favorite part is how well you know about the life of Hunter Biden yet you deflect any criticism of Trump as TDS.

I just looked up the article. It's one text where he is saying n***a to a black friend, who replied once with "that made me snarf my coffee." Inappropriate, but not quite what I expected from the headlines.

His romantic exploits, however, are pretty difficult to grant leniency on. IIRC, he impregnated a dancer while dating his brother's widow, right?

I can understand this coming from conservatives but I always find the moral handwringing over sexual promiscuity or drug use from someone on the left odd. I'm not talking about strictly Hunter Biden here. I don't know a lot about him and the N word thing makes me dislike him enough. I am just curious do you really think a drug habit or infidelity or fucking a dancer makes you a bad person? The brother's window thing is really bad though so again I'm not talking about Hunter here, just in general.

He does seem to be a complete degenerate piece of shit.

Not much Joe can do about his adult son. And I can't hate him for trying to stick by his son.

I definitely have fucked up family members so I feel for him.
