I posted a sort-of poem i saw online here about why hotels are so existentially gratifying. I'll fuck it up if I try to recreate it, but the gist of it was that, because the hotel room stimulates your senses in so many ways (the feel of the sheets, the sound of the AC, the smell of detergent) and yet is so empty and is a retreat from your usual life, it's outside of time, with endless present and no future nor past.
The smell of hotel air conditioning omg

It was unique for the time in that the story was about a family of total losers lol. Al Bundy is a relentless jerk and the world never stops shitting on him. The continuing gags about him fighting with large women always got me.

Well I know other people find them funny, otherwise they never would have made it over here or been shown for more than a season.
Not my sense of humour though, or even a case of me quickly getting sick of the same character driven gags being endlessly repeated (which tends to happen with any comedy series, it's just a matter of how long it takes).
I would have seen at least 2 or three episodes of all of them though, and never found them funny at all.

Well, to each their own I suppose

So, are you into more absurdist comedy, skit type stuff, or nothing in particular?

Or

What's your flavour?

Has anyone here seen Ichi the Killer? There’s a scene where someone gets cut in half vertically by a knife boot. I think South Carolina should use that for its executions.

Have not seen ichi the killer, but this is what I thought of when you mentioned it.

Sherdog is the reason I even know of the movies existence, and I watched it because I felt it was required viewing to understand my fellow 'doggers.
But to answer your question, I believe it was an option but only made it to the sweet sixteen (was eliminated by the brazen bull which lost to firing squad).

British humour generally does better for me, although it's pretty rare for TV series to remain funny for me for more than a couple of episodes. Might be because I didn't grow up watching TV.
Monty Python's Flying Circus, Black Books, DAAS Kapital, The Young Ones, Black Adder and Red Dwarf stayed funnier for longer than I'd expect.
In terms of books it's more satire like Jennifer Government, Halting State, Rule 34, Noir or Surface Detail.

I did think Ichi The Killer was pretty funny though.
