It's mental illness, and everyone knows that the proper medical and social treatment for mental illness is childish derision.

Perhaps. Just wild how much I see random chuds literally saying "Pronouns in bio lmao"

And they have the nerve to call anyone left of GWB "NPCs".

I can't comment further without becoming spiteful.

@BEER to be clear i meant that unironically, lol

difference being i'll also take the piss out of said conservatives going out of their way to whinge, but yeah all that twitterverse pronoun shite deserves to be mocked and in hindsight probably harsher so, it's actually building considerable steam and becoming less fringe

It's pretty harmless and lets people [who care] take the extra second to make sure they're being considerate towards your preferences.

I just can't help but roll my eyes whenever I see someone hit the ol' "pronouns in bio lmao" as if it's some sort of burn. If anything, it's extra weird that someone would take the time to go look at someone's bio to check if the "joke" is open.

I know conservatives like Will Graham knows psychopaths.

But I have yet to find my Hannibal Lector.

i mean yeah it's not clever and not particularly funny, but it's all silliness to me so whatever i guess

Man the thread on the shooting in Minnesota is disgusting. Full mask off, racist sherfront. I’m not surprised but I guess I’m sad that people still think like that.

Does anyone know the rationale that conservatives have behind attempting to mock people who list their pronouns on Twitter or elsewhere?
The cruelty is the point.

Tbh I find it a bit silly and lame to see the pronouns listed when its obvious either way. Gina Carano was being bugged about this even though its obvious what her pronouns are.

If you're a transwoman with a five o clock shadow then yeah maybe put your pronouns in your bio so people don't get confused. I get that normalizing it as something we all do makes it more comfortable for trans and non-binary people to do it but uh yeah not really fan of it when its not necessary.

Great post.

Huh. I don’t do it precisely for the sense of mystery. But now you’re telling me that might not be effective.

Does this giant, mustachioed, bald man identify as a man? Woman? I’ll never tell...

Yea, I don't go out of way to be an a$$hole. if someone is an obvious woman or man, I will refer to them as he/she.

however, if there is a situation where it is 'unclear' , I make an effort to find out what their preferred pronouns are.
I do have a co-worker who is "non-binary". and this person is an obvious bio-female, but dresses like a man.

similar to Elliot Page,

It’s not harmless when the horde try to enforce it on others.

and this is my issue as well. If you want to do it, great...all the power to you. but don't fu*king shame others for not doing so.

our corporate office released an email from the head of HR strongly encouraging us to put our pronouns in our email signatures. they emphasized that it wasn't "mandatory" but kinda hinted at it.

I think I'm one of the few hold outs who hasn't included it yet.

I think it was a year ago I started a thread on this very topic. people didn't believe me that this was a thing. I should go find it and bump it.

I can agree with this but I also think it’s just like not that big of a deal. Seems like something really minor to get upset about.
