Apparently a lot of Sherdoggers are just discovering @AgonyandIrony is ANTIFA today and it's pure popcorn.

I got a solid giggle out of it. All I did was romanticize the Cable Street Riot of 1936. Which is celebrated by the English government now and basically destroyed the pre-WW2 fascist movement in England.

And then all I did was point out that most neo Nazi and white supremacist groups are infiltrated by Anti Fascists and they're the ones who found out Tucker Carlson's head writer was a fascist. Boooooy howdy did they get mad.

Shame I got to pull another 12 hour shift today. I was having fun.

The White Lives Matter thread. I saw some chatter and leaked Telegram chats from their group. They actually cancelled an event because they realized there were more Anti Fascists in their chat than their allies lol.

Rustled some feathers in that thread, which is funny, I think the black bloc style of activism is mostly counter intuitive and pretty dumb tbh. Like I get teenagers brawling it out but there's grown ass men in Patriot Prayer and Rose City Antifa acting like idiots.

Yea, I don't go out of way to be an a$$hole. if someone is an obvious woman or man, I will refer to them as he/she.

however, if there is a situation where it is 'unclear' , I make an effort to find out what their preferred pronouns are.
I do have a co-worker who is "non-binary". and this person is an obvious bio-female, but dresses like a man.

I had a weird situation like that, must have been at least 8 years ago. It was on a call at work and it was a woman who was very obviously presenting herself as a man. Way less feminine than Elliot Page. So much so that I wasn’t really sure if it was a man or a woman.

So I figured I had a 50/50 shot and said, “alright... sir.” Big mistake lol. Just a very butch lesbian who seemingly hated men and despite passing as one apparently did not want to be mistaken for one.

You never want want to make a situation uncomfortable, or worse, hostile. So I learned a lesson there. No guessing lmao

our corporate office released an email from the head of HR strongly encouraging us to put our pronouns in our email signatures. they emphasized that it wasn't "mandatory" but kinda hinted at it.

I think I'm one of the few hold outs who hasn't included it yet.

I think it was a year ago I started a thread on this very topic. people didn't believe me that this was a thing. I should go find it and bump it.

That is kind of fucked up, but I understand why a corp would do that.

That’s seriously how stupid they are I guess. And I think it’s well documented I’m not an Antifa fan in its current iteration. But in 1930s Europe if you’re not pro-Antifa... well, I guess you’re a Nazi.

I really liked both, probably liked Song to Song more since there was a more coherent plot whereas Knight of Cups feels like it wanders a bit. I also thought Song to Song dealt with the break up, time apart, an reconnecting better than pretty much any other romance movie I've seen.

I like both more than To the Wonder which is probably my least favorite Malick film.

i almost forgot that to the wonder exists. i saw it in 2012 and haven't thought about it since so yeah maybe it is the bottom.

You shouldn’t use someone’s pronouns in their presence; it’s impolite. People can use whatever pronouns they want to use for me, because I won’t be there to hear them.

I don’t take any issue with people who feel the need to announce their pronouns ahead of time. I don’t like people being forced to do so.

@AgonyandIrony Even though they've completely receded into nostalgia punk rock in the 9 years, the 2010 song "Chamberlain Waits" by The Menzingers is still one of my favorite left wing songs in terms of lyrical content. It's about the singer/band growing up in the shadow of a munitions plant in Scranton and feeling the specter of inevitability of working there once his dreams dried up.
