I JUST watched parasite last night. Great flick.

I’m in this thread to see if anyone knows why Mccountry got banned. Anyone know?

This is a very straightforward place with fairly simple rules. How do people keep breaking them?

Yea, I've never broken any rules here either. so ridicuous. the rules are pretty clear here.

to address @essie 's question in regards to what is a "liberal" or "leftist" film I think of any film that accentuates/emphasizes the economic inequalities between the Haves and "have nots", any film that portrays a clear demarcation between the ruling class and proletariat.

I think power imbalances being bad in general is what we want to look at for a leftist one. For a liberal one specifically, it should argue for reason over other forms of "knowing."

@essie some I would like to see discussed:

Planet of the Apes (Dawn of the - I think?)
Black Panther
Blade Runner 2049
Legends of the Fall
Minority Report

^ Parasite is a good call too.

Yeah, looking forward to your thread @essie!

explain Legends of the Fall and Minority report please.

and Blade Runner 2049 while you're at it. (grossly underrated film btw)

Well, it is a pussy thing to do, considering it's a forum where people post anonymously. Bad trend you started there.
What trend is that? Not derailing a thread and continuing the off-topic argument in the correct place?

Yeah, looking forward to your thread @essie!

I'm realizing (via your future thread @essie, thanks in advance) that I'm less concerned with liberal vs. conservative and more concerned with technocrat liberal vs. democratic liberal.

Oh I definitely can't off the top of my head, that's why I want to see them discussed.

As I mentioned in my last post, I like scenarios where an upper class proposes technology that's meant to grant more freedoms which a lower class interprets as a violation of more fundamental freedoms.

Would also add Snowpiercer.

Yeah man, following the rules is such a bad trend to start. Quite honestly one of the most cowardly things you could do on this karate message board forum quasi political site.

Snowpiercer, that's another great choice.

I would also include the best Zombie film of all time.

Train to Busan. clear economic inequalities and class struggles expressed in this film.

I thought Minority Report was more a philosophical film, more of a debate between "free will " and "determinism.

I didn't attribute a political ideology to it.

but I could be wrong
