Ugh. That dude's generation has had it better than just about any generation in history. The pain and disillusionment that some feel is called life, and they should learn better coping skills (to be fair, I'm not convinced that the percentage of people in the generation who are fucked up is any higher than with any other generation, though the specific actions that people take to express "nihilistic rage" vary).

I'm pretty sure I got one from my TKD sensei.

I was holding pads for him as he was demonstrating proper kicking form for a much younger class. even with me holding the pads with all my might, he kicked so hard that the pads and my arms hit my face and pretty much sent me doing a backwards sommersault.
and broke my glasses.

probably one of the most exhausting times (physically) in my life was wrestling practice.

our coach didn't cut people from the team. essentially if you survived the practices, he let you on the team.

That's one thing I dislike about my country. Wrestling programs are few and far between. None of the highschools in my had a program, let alone an elementary school. One of my college roommates went to provincial championships, I was blown away at how easily he manipulate me on the mat.
