Political views, often shift, change...and there are many political positions which have solid arguments for and against them.

let's take an easy one for example..

gun rights.

I can see how a person would be an ardent supporter of gun rights, and I can also how a person would want to advocate for more stringent gun laws.

neither of these positions would make that person "good" or "bad" per se.
