This is a better solution. An election holiday has two problems: 1. People will still have to work that day and won't be able to vote, and those will arguably be people from the lower working class (service industry types) 2. Plenty of people who don't vote anyways will just treat it like a day off and do whatever they feel like

Why does it take more than a day to vote? I’d settle for a week though. As long as there is a deadline with no votes counted afterward.
