The fallout of that Alcatraz occupation was them bring targeted via COINTELPRO. I'm not so sure I'd call that "better" in any relative sense considering what COINTELPRO was.
I’m positive I never used the word “better.” Point is we think in generalities but we live in details. There are too many reasons to list as to why all these different events shake out differently as they do.

I'm just saying, when one group gets met with extrajudicial violence, targeted assassination, and overwhelming force and the other gets met with a jury trial, it's not exactly a logical leap to wonder exactly why the treatment is so disparate.

And if we want to go back to the Bundys, their occupation ended after Trump was inaugurated. FBI Director or not, the administrative guidance was the same from the top down due to Trump's heretofore irregular relationship with the DOJ. These are the same federal agencies that are responding to this shit now. And somehow between 2016 and Summer 2020 they discovered a backbone for violence and then lost it before 2021. But NOW it's optics, but nobody cared about that when fatass in chief needed a photo op.

Wait, the Bundy shit didn't end till 2016? I thought it ended in like 2014 when the dude got shot by the FBI?

One how does anyone have a problem with chili. Back when I was a high school ski bum a hot bowl of chili was all that kept me going to finish the slopes.

Second if you have a problem with todays protests and you were not against the BLM riots then explain your position.
Some writers have some explaining to do.
Riots are destructive, dangerous, and scary — but can lead to serious social reforms

The Double Standard of the American Riot
The nationwide protests against police killings have been called un-American by critics, but rebellion has always been used to defend liberty.

No you're thinking of the OTHER Bundy standoff, where they threatened to shoot any BLM or other federal agents that infringed on their right to not pay grazing fees.

Oh yeah, complete with aiming guns at said agents.

Well yeah in regards to the FBI Director thing it’s a 10 year appointment. So GWB appointed one and now Trump has. Obama never got to appoint a FBI Director, that was just as an example. Despite what a liberal deep state hotbed the FBI is there has never been a democrat appointed as Director.

Anyway, I’m not trying to argue that there isn’t disparate treatment (obviously), or that racial and political factors don’t play into that at all. But that there’s a really complicated reason for those disparate treatments and simply pointing to two incidents that aren’t comparable isn’t really proof of anything. And also one of the Bundy guys was shot and killed. And many conservatives raised a stink about it.

One thing you get used to in law enforcement is that everyone will complain about how you do the job, even if it’s not you doing the job. It’s either too harsh or too soft or whatever. Humans aren’t perfect and neither are any of our systems.

Jesus fuck.

I remember on intial viewing I sort of sided with Bundy for the grazing rights as it initially read like the Feds just imminent domain'd them out of grazing area that granted access to water rights. Then I lost interest.
