That's not necessarily untrue but it's also not a fair way to measure the user base here. Look at the front page right now, you will likely find whining about wokeism and celebration of a BLM leader being shot. There is some anti Trumpism but those threads seem like outliers in the larger pool here. The line about being left in the Bush era not translating to now doesn't really make sense.People generally feel the forum is dominated by who they argue with. They remember every second of arguments like a poker player remembers bad beats and minimize in their heads all the times they got lucky on that last card.
The forum has a large share of both sides. Keep in mind being considered "left" in the Bush era and having the lot of the same views today doesn't mean you are still considered left by a lot of people using a modern lens.
And as you get older and more experienced and have kids and the world changes around you, your interpretation of things changes with it.
