@AgonyandIrony and @Limbo Pete maybe you can help me out.

Not sure why this has been on my mind but I remember learning in HS about an American Socialist from the Midwest that was getting traction in either the 20s or 30s but he was shunned by FDR and I think that kind of killed his career movement. I think we learned about it to show FDR wasn't a socialist.

Been trying to google it but I'm coming up empty, any thoughts?

So I made Break my Stride my alarm clock and honestly it's a pretty amazing way to vibe into the morning.

Fuck I know who you're talking about but his name escapes me... At first I assumed Norman Thomas but that's not it.

Handsome bastard
Verily, I try to bear the burden with quiet dignity but some days it is a struggle.

But seriously, it's only relatively recently that I have begun to believe people when they tell me I'm attractive. Regardless, I try to avoid bragging or anything like that; I take no credit for it--luck of the genes. But once I did begin to understand, I also realized I have often benefited from it without realizing it at the time--particularly in terms of getting away with being caught checking girls out.

What's really funny to me is that I also realized* women check me out, which is kind of fun, but man oh man do they hate to get caught--well, with the odd exception here and there.

*to be fair, someone once told me as much back in my 20's but I didn't believe her.

Norman Thomas?

Don't think it was Thomas. I think the guy held office and was caught off guard by FDR cutting the rug out from under him. I think FDR did it to avoid the Socialist label himself.

Hot damn, I know who you're talking about buy I can't place his name. Tag me when you figure it out, it's going to bother me all day.

Maye I am thinking of Thomas or Debs, but I can't find anything about them and FDR in particular.

I would probably never come back to this website if they removed the report button.

I sometimes just sit here, smirking, leaning back in my chair.
I can picture it. I sometimes burst out manically laughing while leaning back in my chair, exactly like a cartoon villain. Pisses the wife right off.
