Also, there’s the fact the midterms lose him congress and make him a lame duck. SCOTUS is likely to strike down a few of his actions this term.

But I wouldn’t say that’s just reason to think that things will work out. Vance was picked solely because he has less principles than Pence and would’ve been okay entertaining overturning 2020. That’s not who you really want as the next guy in the party who clearly wants to be president. On that front though, I would think most of these post-Trump politicians where never have close to the rope the base gave Trump but that’s something to still watch play out.

Also, beyond all that is hoping that different rules Trump broke aren’t broken again by another politician acting like it’s fair game to do now.
War Fetterman!
He’s a dyed in the wool Democrat otherwise Obama wouldn’t have campaigned for him, right?
He just did not heed his marching orders apparently but still, he might be their only chance. God help us if Newsom gets in.

Caveat emptor:

"At the end of last year, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued five of the largest TV companies, accusing them of excessive and deceptive surveillance of their customers.

Paxton reserved special venom for the two China-based members of the quintet. His argument is that unlike Sony, Samsung, and LG, if Hisense and TCL have conducted surveillance in the way the lawsuits accuse them of, they'd potentially be required to share all data with the Chinese Communist Party.

It is a rare pleasure to state that legal action against tech companies is cogent, timely, focused, and – if the allegations are true – deserves to succeed. It is less pleasant to predict that even if one, several, or all of these manufacturers did what they're accused of, and were sanctioned for it, it would not put the safeguards in place to stop such practices from recurring.

At the heart of the cases is the fact that most smart TVs use Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) to send rapid-fire screenshots back to company servers, where they are analyzed to finely detail your TV usage. This sometimes covers not just streaming video, but whatever apps or external devices are displaying, and the allegations are that every other bit of personal data the set can scry is also pulled in. Installed apps can have trackers, data from other devices can be swept up."

Wadda ya know? The state of Texas did something I fully support.

My Black neighbor had a good laugh over this one.

one of the cornerstones of socialism is collectivism instead of individualism.

I heard she has a place in the Hamptons though.

the good old xbox 360 chat pad from back in the golden days of gaming where nothing you say would get you banned.

the N and the R buttons are pretty worn down. i'll bet the G button is gone.

Huh? Where did I say that? And either way what about that isn't moderate? Do you think your position on guns, whatever it may be, is moderate?
If owning a gun requires a test then that now puts voting on the table for states and possibly even counties. Not very "moderate."

First off that doesn't follow at all, requiring cost registration doesn't mean you need a pernit to exercise your 1st, 4th, or 5th amendment rights

Second, why are you attributing this position to me? Where have I argued this?

Why would would you like that very post in the thread then?

Which post?
<LikeReally5>

I think most people just want better gun laws and regulations. You have to take a test and get a license to drive a car that can mow people down, so it's a normal idea to have people take a test to be able to buy a gun. To try and see if they are mentally capable.

Did you expect me to know every post I liked in that thread off the top of my head?

Wanting a test to own a gun and vote doesn't seem very moderate.

Well for one I didn't argue that, neither for voting nor for guns. The person you quoted did not argue it for voting and I reject your argument that it necessarily follows from testing for gun ownership

Second, I don't think that position is all that extreme even if I don't necessarily agree.

Third, why did you leave out parts of the post you quoted? Here's the full thing
What does that mean?

I have and love guns, my friends who are liberal have guns, I know more Democrats who do shooting drills and training regularly than any MAGA person.

But then that's a problem because the right to bare arms, except people leave out the well regulated militia part, and no on is part of a militia.
Did it occur to you that I might've liked the post without necessarily agreeing with every single word?

And furthermore, given we have voter registration does that necessarily set e precedent for gun registration?
