Yea, I never hard you booked as hard left but I’m not here often

Do you have any novel or extreme views on property rights?
I don’t think so. You mean things like opposing private property rights and wanting property rights to be collective, or have everything owned by the government, or things like that? Nah, that’s not my style I like private ownership.

Any of those really. I just have seen that as one indicator, at least to me, of getting to the farther side of the spectrum. Property is theft and all that.

Yeah, that’s def not my jam. I am in favor of socialized medicine and education, provided I thought the particular plan in question was a good one.

Against Unions?
Maybe there's an exception to the rule but generally I've been convinced they're not good. I prefer broad benefits and public goods over targeted ones and I'm against rent-seeking by economic cartels which is what a union is.

Would you be in favor of busting up teachers unions?

I love my union. Would be up a creek without it.

Mods are actually great here on this site. It’s literally the last bastion of free speech on the net. Except we can’t say the G word for something.
There is no free speech here though. We aren't as restrictive as say Reddit but if the site owners don't want something discussed, we'll enforce it.

Hence the G word. Everything else is pretty fair game.

The people in the union tend to like it, the argument is that others bear the cost and that its an overall net loss for the economy.

I think you're an academic so idk exactly the role unions play in that context but in other contexts they are a drag.

Well, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the absence of my union would mean no health insurance for a whole hell of a lot of people lol
