The lounge had nothing to do with War Room discussions, though. It was, and is, basically a chat room, for old-time posters and some newer ones. I think initially the whole point of it was that it was "off-topic", a place where people could talk about more regular stuff than just politics.

Pretty much.

The idea that this forum is "dying" is funny, because despite some leaving the Lounge, the forum is still very active, and still gets WAY more activity than it ever did back when it was some nerd forum for a handful of people pre-Trump.

If anything kills it, it will be the drama caused by all the activity, with some very special butt hurt people getting so emotional that they doxx people or e-mail Crave over their bullshit, that the top brass don't care to deal with on an MMA forum(although I'm sure they deal with a far larger portion of bullshit on the forums that are really popular). If anything, the War Room has grown to a forum of significance over the years, and continues to be a prominent sub-forum since politics went mainstream.

The Lefties thinking their presence is so important that their absence will bring it down, are no different than the righties who got all pissed years ago and created their own chat. Both groups thought they were bigger than the site. In the end, the site runners just get rid of the riff raff, some people get mad and leave, and everyone else just continues on. All these people predicting the end times for this forum because some of their "friends" left, just have a very inflated sense of self worth, and are essentially wishing that their presence is as important as they think it is. Truth is, nobody cares. The site administrators are not having any serious discussions on what they did wrong to drive away a few people from a sub-forum, and certainly aren't considering shutting it down over it.

The fact that it seems like a lot of these people think The Lounge = The War Room, just shows how delusional they are.
